Got mine down to just under $10/mth. Very happy with that! Will see how easily these 30k pts are obtained in reality but for such a small outlay it will be worth it.

How did you get it to $10 a month for two policies? If you've only got one type of policy you only get 10,000 points. I couldn't get mine cheaper than $39 a month for two policies.

Clues, please? How did you do that?
I attempted to sign someone up and wound up with something the size of a mortgage repayment as a monthly figure. :)
Backed out of that quickly!

Got mine to about $8 a month. Set the cover amount to the minimum $100k for Life and TPD. The key to lowering the costs is removing the options on each policy.

It comes down to what industry you are in (high or low risk), the cover amount, and the options on that cover. You also have to consider if you're in it for the cover or in it for the points. Being in it for the cover will get you the points, but not at a good rate. Being in it for the points will mean you can't meaningfully claim, but I would imagine most people in it for points will cancel fairly quickly, like Staples, ANZ Insurance, Regus, Storage King, Caltex Starcard, etc... there have been many such offers.

My industry is IT and I assume that's low risk for Life insurance as well as TPD. Both covers were set to $100,000 with accident cover, but no illness or (adventure) sports cover. I didn't choose the other two covers as they both were significantly higher, much as income insurance would be nice – I don't plan to claim.

My premium comes to $7.56/month.

I just removed absolutely everything from the policies except the most basic details. Life cover only had accident cover & TPD only had illness cover. Also reduced the amount insured down to $100k for each plus 10% discount for healthy BMI.

Life: $3.74/mth
TPD: $5.97/mth
Total: $9.71/mth

Spoke with a representative on the phone just then to confirm a few details of my application and at the same time she confirmed 30k bonus pts.

Forgot to mention I also received this, of course!

If you're already a member of Qantas Assure for your Private Health Insurance, buying extra policies also has the effect of doubling what you earn in the app. It's really lucrative right now for me!

Thanks for all the responses.
I must be doing something strange because those options don't come up on my browser.
May have another go this evening.
Or not. :)

Feel free to send a PM later with some of the details that you're entering and I will have a go for you. Of course, you may be in a high risk category due to a number of factors, and that is driving up the figure.

Also just signed up to this. Got it down to $7.66 in my industry with minimum everything. 30k points gonna be tasty.

How odd. Life insurance premiums double if you're a smoker compared to a non-smoker, even if you only cover an event that isn't affected by smoking (ie accident cover only, no illness). Income protection is cheaper for a smoker compared to a non-smoker under the same conditions (including accident but excluding illness).
