Thanks! when I cancelled there was an automated message saying that there will be a cancellation confirmation in a email.

Do you get a refund of the unused portion of your premium?

Getting so frustrated with this.

- Signed-up online 16 March
- Got the call with lots of questions 17 March
- Received policy pack 20 March (with policy activation date of 20 March)

I still haven't had the points show in the app, let alone sweep across. Called them twice in the last 2 weeks asking what the story is.

Them: "You need to wait until 14 days after the 60 day wait from when the policy started, so 74 days in total."

Me: "I understand it might take 14 days to sweep across into my QF account, but it should be showing in the app. I know people who signed up the day before me and had their points appear over a week ago. I'm sure the system isn't triggering the points because my policy start date in my policy pack was 20 March, after the promotion had ended."

Them: "Wait the 14 days then call us back."

Grrrrrr.

I had a similar issue, and lodged a complaint with Financial Industry Ombudsman. Lodged the complaint against TAL Life Limited, as they're the actual insurer. Points arrived 3 days later.

Interesting to hear.

The 14 days will be Friday for me. I will demand the points then and there, failing that FOS. The first CSR I spoke to said "after the 14 days a supervisor can credit them on the spot."

So TAL Life have acknowledged on numerous calls and one email that I'm eligible for the points. Still no points.

Lodged complaint with FOS. We'll see how long this takes...

6 months is out of the question for me. For most working people, we get life insurance automatically through our super.

I'm new to the acquiring points, that's why I'm here. Have 100 000 coming to me for the ultimate AMEX card. Will look a bit closer at other offers. Have a 30 day cooloing off period with the life insurance

I still hold my policy as I use Qantas Assure and the overall double points for $7.50/month is quite nice. Doubt I’d ever claim.

Earn about 800 points a month for $7.50.

All good, that's why we're all here :)

If you're wanting to go down the Qantas Assure path, I'd be waiting until the next bonus point offer for health insurance pops up. They seem to pop up fairly regularly and if you already have private health cover you may only have to pay a fraction extra to pick up significant bonus point. For instance the last time it come around it cost me $220 extra ($75/month & bonus points post month 3) for 90,000 points, however YMMV.

However, if you don't hold private health cover first, it's probably not worth getting it just for the points.
