Yesterday we arrived into San Francisco after flying ADL-SYD-LAX-SFO.
About 2 hours into the LAX trip my wife looked at me, said she felt sick, then passed out!
We were in economy, upstairs on the 380, and within minutes the crew had her on oxygen, and lying flat over 4 seats. And that was where she stayed the rest of the trip!!!!
The couple next to her were thankful for their impromptu upgrade to PE (which was about 40% full, and so was I!
The flygirl was on oxygen twice for the trip and hardly moved other than a couple of vomiting hits along the way.
I know it's their job, BUT THE CREW WERE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. They took both of under their collective wing and kept me up to date on how she was, and also looked after me incredibly well.
We put the "problem" down to lack of a lot of air, being over tired, rushing to finish some jobs before we left, and catching a cold a day before we left, and taking cold and flu tablets, as she was fine after we landed in LAX, and is now fine sitting in San Francisco.
I know people like to complain and whinge about this and that on Qantas, and other airlines, but the professionalism, team work and team spirit on QF11 on Saturday was just superb, and it's something I think others need to hear about.
I've already passed my comments to Qantas via the feedback email I got, and I know my wife will be writing to them to pass on her personal thanks.
We have the names of the crew, and she will be mentioning them in her letter, but I thought this was worth sharing with others, particularly if you have any issues with flying.
Plus it's good to get a good news story about Qantas.
