Fourteen months ago Sinophile888, after a bit of prompting, posted her thoughts for the 'Inaugural AFF Cruise 25 - 29 Jan 2018'

After months of planning the event finally took place last weekend when 13 people caught Golden Princess from Adelaide to Melbourne. To the best of my knowledge everyone had a good time including those who 'haven't been converted to cruising yet'

It's time to look ahead to next time so I'm calling for suggestions. There don't seem to be a lot of 3, 4 or 5 day cruises available early next year so if you think you have found something suitable please post it up for discussion.

Those mentioned thus far are:

  1. Sun Princess. Sydney - Morton island - Sydney on January 5th for 4 nights.
  2. Golden Princess. Adelaide - Kangaroo Island - Port Lincoln - Melbourne on January 25th for 4 nights.
  3. Sun Princess Sydney - Tasmania - Sydney 17th February 2019 6 Nights
  4. Sea Princess Brisbane - Port Douglas - Brisbane 17th February 2019 7 nights
  5. Golden Princess Sydney - South Island - Auckland 8th April 2018 8 nights

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Just outside the DSC promotion dates. Hmm, might consider it, though. Can't be that bad.........

Does it have to be restricted to January and 5 days? (January is not good to us) There are a couple of cruises in February 2019 and one in April 2019 that may be good however a bit longer.

Sun Princess Sydney - Tasmania - Sydney 17th February 2019 6 Nights
Sea Princess Brisbane - Port Douglas - Brisbane 17th February 2019 7 nights
Golden Princess Sydney - South Island - Auckland 8th April 2018 8 nights

The four night cruise is a good option because it is just a long weekend, as opposed to a week of annual leave.

I have added your suggestions to post #1

I think (I haven't checked recently) that Star Cruises do lots of short cruises. But only ex SIN or ex HKG or the occasional other Asian port.

I would prefer January to February. February would be almost impossible for me because it's when everyone finally gets around to looking at the work that has been sitting on their desks since the last Friday before Christmas ;):eek:o_O

Us too.

Maybe we'll need several different cruises! :D
Or someone can book a cruise and others follow?

Wish I had more time. Just saw an 8 day South Pacific cruise advertised for under $900/pp. Not sure of all the details but that sounds like a good price.

During January just gone i took my 12 year old on a 7 day P&O South Pacific cruise to Noumea, Lifou and Vanuatu, was only $1300 for the two of us but of course I paid all that...

Just took a redundancy and finished up on Tuesday so depending on when/if i get my next job i might have reasonable flexibility, but sailing out of Adelaide or Tasmania I'm not sure excites me that much... Might wait and see what options/itinerary are chosen and if i still have plenty of spare time and make a choice...

Cruiseabout is part of flight centre and the few occasions I’ve had dealings with them they have been just as diabolical as flight centre.
Is that right? Didn't know. There's a flight Centre and Cruiseabout in the same shopping centre.
