John I can certainly tell you bad manners do not have any relationship to class.I have just experienced a couple of grumpy little children on whom a Google search revealed they head large companies and have gongs for their boorish behaviour.
When in practice the patients I admired most were those from working class backgrounds who still thought it important to wear their finest to see the specialist.
Certain people that live in certain suburbs behave rudely wherever they go. That is a fact. Not opinion. Don't confuse these people with most people who live who live in Double Bay, Cronulla, Manly etc. You know who I am talking about. Why are we sticking up for these people and pretending they don't exist? Yes they may not have had the same chances as others but that's no excuse for poor behaviour.

I live here. Can't walk around with ears and eyes closed. And I don't have to accept it or put up with it where I can.

That does not make me think I am better. It makes me think there is something seriously wrong with them and their outlook on life. I blame the decline of society solely on them and those they converted.

Let me get this straight. You live in one of these "certain" suburbs where rude people live? So that makes you a rude person everywhere you go? I'm confused

There is a difference between having an opinion and making generalisations.
Don't you just love controversy?

Actually if my wife knew I was arguing with people on the internet she'd think I was crazy.

She also thought I was crazy when she first met me because I was complaining a lot about Russians, Indians and Mainland Chinese. She doesn't think I am crazy now.

Sweeping generalisations are good. I know what to expect before going to Bali or coughet so no need to visit these places to witness Aussies stealing bar mats.

In all my years flying I think I've just seen the worst thing involving flying I've ever seen.

I'm in the SIN QF lounge just near where they park the CLs in their reserved seats.

Anyway a couple in I'd say mid 60s is escorted there by a staff member, anyway about 15 minutes later the staff member comes back and gives them new BPs for row 23 (the first row of whY I'm assuming) anyway the wife of the couple asked if there is children or babies in the row, the staff member said she wasn't sure and goes to check, she comes back and says yes there is.

The Husband says that it won't do and is unacceptable. So the QF lady tootled off again and came back and said and I quote "that the middle seats people have been moved and only the opposite side has an infant in it." To which they still mumbled but accepted it.

I'm on the EK flight to MEL in J because I couldn't get a seat in any class on QF35, but if they are on that flight I hope that it's the worst flight you both have caught in a long time.

I pray the family they had moved got another bulkhead and they didn't miss out, the sense of entitlement form a couple of CL wankers knows no boundaries.
But what pisses me off more is that QF are pandering to them, I mean if they were that almighty powerful wouldn't they be in J?

That's quite atrocious. I'm secretly hoping they moved those middle seat pax to J !!

  • Getting up to offer your seat to an elderly person, or heavily pregnant woman or otherwise deserving soul seems to decrease at an exponential rate for those below 35 years of age
I'd say 50 and below for London. After my better half returned from work after months of rehab post stroke (she had a walking stick so it was fairly clear), she'd only get offered a seat in 1 out of 10 journeys on average.

Mmm. I have found that young people are much more polite to me than men in their mid sixties - present company excepted of course. :p.

Bad choice of words? Should I have said some "blue" collar workers? Sorry Princess but I don't hold back. I am not afraid to stereotype. Apologies if some people take offence to it.

Now for the people taking the time to attack me here. The less said the better.

Here's another stereotype for you. The refugee crisis in Europe is going to have serious repercussions around the world. They are already demanding housing and handouts. And we are taking some of them here in Australia. Huge mistake.

I should be allowed to say that without being afraid. But I'm afraid because some people want to take away freedom of speech and we are sitting back letting them do it.

Taking the time to attack you? No JohnK I'm freely expressing my opinion, something that you constantly claim to be a right. It's funny how you want to take away my "freedom of speech", my right to express my opinion, with snide comments but we must all bow down to your rights. Do you even hear what you're saying?

Just as well you added the exception!

Went Caboolture last week on the train. Had my golf clubs with me. Yes I know that has nothing to do with it with the price of fish in Thailand. As we approached Caboolture I got up and got my golf bag ready to get out. Then I noticed a lady, lets say middle aged, was about to get out as well. When the doors opened I nicely motioned for her to go first. She was shaking her head and mumbling in her best Caboolture accent as she got off "I was going to let you off first as you are older!".

Can't win can I? :p

Thankfully I'm probably still in the "young people" category (certainly not in my 60's yet) - neither is Mr Pushka :D

The original mass produced nudie magazine is going away from its beginnings to seek more readers.

History was made when it was produced in the fifties and again now. But then who has actually seen a hard copy in the last few years?
I see what you did there. :D

What will people do now? Read Playboy for the articles? :p
