QF Platinum Recognition on flights

Also completely missed this point but I've been taken care of on AA and AS. AA's staff even at Admirals is top notch. BA on the other hand...
Agree about AA – their lounge staff and their twitter/X team will happily and quickly move mountains in the case of IRROPS. QF by comparison have gutted their staff at their lounges worldwide so they are no longer able to help in the case of IRROPS. Even for Plats you have to either find and join the long rebooking queue at the airport, wait for them to select an [unsatisfactory] option for you, or try your luck calling them up. I experienced this earlier this week, it was absolutely woeful.

QF30 from HKG in whY was quite status heavy over the Cup Weekend.

Both the Sydney and Melbourne flights were delayed around 90 minutes. There was a ground inspection issue of the rear cargo door that I presume kept the FAs quite busy.
There was a gentleman that made a small scene when he slept past the first meal service; Adrian was very patient and gracefully handled the situation.

He came around for some greetings/apologies during descent and almost half the Y+ cabin were given express arrival cards.

Today on QF29 I was originally in Y+ but at my request for a neighbour free seat Cath at Suite check in moved me to the rear cabin, advising me to check with lounge staff after check in had closed if I wanted to move up.

At the Flounge staff moved me to Y+ bulkhead at T-50min and blocked the neighbour seat.
It was a "relatively full flight today" as per CSM, but I counted around 20 seats empty on the seat map just before boarding.

Noticed some people getting the red beep for seat change at boarding.
CSS Ronald came around with greetings shortly after takeoff.
Just before first meal someone from the back took the seat next to mine. I was a bit bewildered but he told me that crew had given him permission to do so. I am not a very confrontational person so I let it happen.

Very quickly however another FA directed him to 24B instead, to the great displeasure (but my great relief) of 24A. I noticed that 24A immediately pressed the call button but nothing came out of it.

Just before landing CSS came back to check in on us. Landed ahead of schedule which was great.

First return trip with QF on the HKG route. Compared to CX food was very mediocre but service and WP recognition was good enough (I'm not one for small talk but I appreciate the neighbour free seating).
