I seem to have copped it really bad this season.

I work in factory, with a tip on one side... and soil place on the other. Not the most ideal conditions.

Thankfully my office has the AC on cold so I can escape at times.

Unfortunately I work on a mine site, where dust is unavoidable!

Isn't it sad that we women are all excited by a bloody vacuum cleaner. So much for liberation.

Hey! I love my Dyson and I'm not a woman. When I first got it I used it so often that I nearly wore the carpet out - the very first time I used it, it filled up really quickly, it picks up an astonishing amount of dust that the old one missed.

I would never go back to one of the old things.

Today was my first trip to an airport (excluding driving trains) since my Melbourne trip in August.

Last night, I found out that a friend had a few hours in SYD while traveling PVG - WLG.

With only an ETA into SYD of 1000, we met up around 1115. Because she'd only sent me a message just before leaving somewhere for the flight to PVG, she didn't know I was going to meet her at the airport so there was a surprise there.

A quick trip to the Quay for lunch & a ferry ride to Manly & back was fun. We even put our feet in the water at the beach near the wharf.

My Opal card got its biggest workout.

A short time but a good time. Now early for work - an easy day on the PM wash roster helped today happen.

Not looking forward to the late night train trip home as I left the car at home.

I think he is a little too fixed in his ideals (depending on age of the couple). The swearing point is probably the only valid one...
Firstly, it is not me.

Secondly, I think some of his other points are also valid.

You have to pay for travel on your own network?

I will seriously have to drown my sorrows this evening.

During the week I had to cull my shoe wardrobe. Since I broke my ankles in February I basically have to wear fairly flat boring shoes :( :( In the first round 20 pairs of stilettos had to go. I cant even look at my Jimmy Choos - I have left them in their box. Next week another 20 pairs will probably go !

Worst nightmare. I've justified the existence of my 30+ pairs of shoes....

You have at least 40 pairs of shoes? :shock: :confused:

I like to keep it simple. I have 2 pairs of shoes. :p

John K - you have nothing to cull !!! :shock: ( I wont tell you exactly how many pairs of shoes I actually do have - you would faint !)

Would be a lot of fun if you had to move abroad. :p

Of course, that's always the case. You would likely need external legal intervention for them to pay up right now (e.g. you were owed a couple of months or more), in the form of a cheque or the like.

Besides, I thought work had already acknowledged the problem. The main problem was getting them to realise what to do and then actually do it.

ooohhh what size??? LOL
Since we moved office out to the farm I have not worn any heels to work, I think my feet would die in anything over 2 inches high now. Slip-ons are easier to kick off when I decide to have a lay down on the lounge during the day.
My last count of shoes was over 50 pairs.
(Guys - you have to remember that our shoe size basically does not change, our dress sizes can change one season to the next - that's my excuse for the collection)

Last month I was talking to a old school friend. She is way over 8 months into recovery from 2 broken ankles-a mishap while using a gerni cleaner. She ended up with a plate in 1 ankle after the hose somehow wrapped around her & threw her on the ground

Last time it was 'oops, too busy' but now they've agreed on the number of hours missing. They can do an electronic payment, as they did last time they missed a weeks pay. And they should have but theyre being painful. Just like we are owed 11 months back pay but are dragging their heels....

If you are not already, it might pay (pun intended) to join a union.

You have to pay for travel on your own network?

Opal's not 100% commissioned yet. There's Newcastle buses & the light rail to go plus the introduction of the concession Opal card.

As it stands, I get:

Free travel on all government trains in NSW (including 1st class on regional services);

Free travel on Sydney & Newcastle government operated ferries;

Free travel on State Transit operated buses in Sydney & Newcastle;

No gate fee at airport stations.

What I don't get free travel on until the fine print is paid despite being labelled as Transport services & under government contract:

Non State Transit buses & ferries;

Light rail.

The only thing I got charged for today as me was the bus between my house & the train station. I gave my friend my Opal card to use while she was here (International - Manly - International).

I have two plates and 12 screws in my right ankle. My left ankle I have a piece of bone floating in the breeze. Yesterday and today I could 'feel' all the screws in my right ankle, a hot bath helps but when it is already 30c outside a hot bath can be !!!!!

If you are culling 40 pairs then I am guessing you have at least 80 pairs of shoes! ;)
