Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

One traveller friend recounted sitting next to a hog farm worker who at 500 pounds and 6 feet 8 inches made his way onto the plane. He had rushed to catch the 7am flight so had not showered when he left his hog heaven. The plane was full so no seat re-assignments were possible. Now that story made me feel so lucky I wasn't sitting next to him on that flight.

I will seriously have to drown my sorrows this evening.

During the week I had to cull my shoe wardrobe. Since I broke my ankles in February I basically have to wear fairly flat boring shoes :( :( In the first round 20 pairs of stilettos had to go. I cant even look at my Jimmy Choos - I have left them in their box. Next week another 20 pairs will probably go !

Sounds like it's time for the women folk to have a shoe do at mrs.dr.ron's place.

It fits two essential criteria, most of you will get to fly somewhere and you can get some shoes.

Oh and meet a lovely lady.

I don't think I've had 80 pairs of shoes in my lifetime  I'm just not a shoe person.

Shoes are the only thing that have not changed in size for me in the past 10 years. Hence the large quantity. Clothes go from size 10 to 18 during the same period. :(

I wont tell you exactly how many pairs of shoes I actually do have - you would faint !
When discussing the Shoe Ownership Stakes race I think Cruiserette might show you a clean pair of heels mrs.dr.ron - she calls me a smart cough that I have nicknamed her 'Imelda'!

Ah. Ok. I still have my "going away" outfit and we've been married 35+ years. It was a lavish purchase back then and has been in and out of fashion many times. It is a slubbed silk jacket and skirt.

I'm more into handbags. It used to be watches.

Wiping the tears from my eyes .. ball and chain is asking what is so funny on a saturday morning at 7am .. love the comment about shoe size remaining the same but dress size has increased :)

I do handbags too...

Ouch, that would hurt more than the break

I too am a bit of a shoe collector. I had a major melt down when I looked at the invite for Wednesday's QF RetroRoo delivery to see that it said "No heels". I have about 20 pairs of ballet flats, none of them matching my outfit !
Undeterred I rushed out to Westfield and bought a pair of wedges to add to my collection and (sort of) comply with the dress code :)

I love it that since the weather bureau announced that Adelaide's summer will be hotter and drier this year, seems to have broken the cycle of 2 months without rain. We've had several wet days in Adelaide since that announcement, so much so that November's rainfall is back to average.

Today it's rain and rolling thunderstorms. The forecast of last night said "chance of a shower"!

SWMBO "does handbags" as well - however no gluts (these days) as three daughters aged 22+ all happily remediate storage issues on the frequent occasions a new bag is liberated from a store. (I'm not sure they have paid for a bag in a long time ...)

Here's a sociogeographic question. How many people put out goods on the verge in front of their homes - not rubbish, but no longer required household items? It seems I am the only one in my office who doesn't do this, and I am told its "the thing to do" in Bondi. I've always thought it was kind of, hmm, trashy! :p

I will if I think its something that will get snapped up quickly. Its amazing how fast a box of magazines will disappear...

]I really must try this. The people in the office do it in the dark. Is that a requirement too? :p

I do it right before school finish time. Private school mums love a freebie

( I live next to a posh private school, we get a lot of traffic)
