Back home in Australia, all bags arrived, now it's back to work. Qantas PE was nice but the final flight QF52 was the worst, food ok just a disinterested cabin crew, like they didn't want to be there.

Now to finish the trip report.

Brisbane is supposed to be cooler today but I am already finding it too humid.

Good luck for today.

Yes just arrived back today.Sweating profusely.
Knew I was at BNE immediately as our bags waited for the other 299 to come out first.

Know that feeling! As a friend on FB said to me "so your bags are MIA in MIA"!

We departed San Juan on our cruise thinking we wouldn't see them until we got back however AA flew the bags to St Croix (STX) which was our first cruise port so we only had 48 hours without them.

As I commented when BB lost his bags:
"That's where u read your ti policy, ensure you are covered, head out and spend up big." :D

This list of 2011 fiction and non-fiction books from NY Times may interest travellers and others alike:

Nice list Foreigner. To my regret I don't manage to find time to read too much these days, but when travelling (though not while actually aboard a plane, I tend to watch movies then) I need books to occupy some of my time. Read a few on my around the world last year, and I'll recommend to the house one I picked up in a very small English language section in a bookshop in Helsinki. Called "The Passage" by Justin Cronin, and is the first part in a planned trilogy, with #2 being due for release in 2012 and #3 due in 2014. Great reading (IMHO) and am hanging out for #2.

It is Friday afternoon again and I am travelling.

It is surprising that the sky is clear and no sign of delays. Who ever said that I have no luck when it comes to air travel?

Re: Oh Dear!

I hope it was an accident rather than something more sinister. Unfortunately in London you get said events quite often on the tube......

Nor sure of exactly what happened...but IME Melbourne folk are not that good at paying attention around rail lines.

bad time of day to happen (most buses are on "school" duty).

Took Dandenong line train to Springvale, now on 902 bus to Chelsea - bypassing disruption.

Owing to a defective landlord, I am currently enjoying a self-funded (bah) excursion/staycation at a pleasant establishment in my home town.

Free beverage for anyone who can guess the hotel (and floor), providing you come and collect it (the Gin is evaporating rather quickly!).

(serfty, notzac, penegal, and anyone on my Facebook friends list are ineligible to enter for reasons of a nature that they know exactly where I am, although they shouldn't be piking and should be here already partaking in Gin :p)

It's a shame I can't move in really I could get used to this!

Meanwhile here I am back at work on my first day post-holiday .. :(

Unfortunately I don't qualify - both having you as a FB friend, and being quite a few km away. I'd post a picture of my view - but that would give away my location :D
