Probably better than you just "ending" or "continuing" your "work day"...

Well, that's a good point :D

I think I'll actually be finished by 8 tonight, too, so nice start to the weekend!

My parents arrive back into LGW from MAD tomorrow morning, so showing them around for the day before they jump on the Eurostar to Paris for a few days.

That's not surprising ;) :p
Which is why I said life is boring without surprises. Sad when you know what is going to happen in advance. :p

Seriously, I hope no one on this flight has connections at SYD International as we are going to be lucky to make curfew....

Sure did with about 25 minutes to spare.

The pilot must have had the throttle down all the way as we left BNE much later.

FWIW last Friday (i.e. 14/10/2011) Bundy Bear and I were on the last DJ flight of the day. Our originally scheduled departure would have us in SYD with 30 minutes to spare before curfew. We departed somewhere between 25-29 minutes late of schedule. (FlightStats shows us 15 minutes late but I thought it was much more than that.)

Our captain came on the PA near the end of boarding to basically tell everyone in most diplomatic fashion to sit down and buckle up as fast as possible, or we're not getting out of Brisbane.

Given the large proportion of bogans on the manifest, I'm surprised they paid attention. But thank goodness they did, so off to SYD we went.

The captain must have pushed the flight to arrive before curfew then.

Even bogans want to leave Brisbane for the weekend :D

Great game in the final of the Rugby World Cup, All Blacks 8 France 7, very close game which showed why France were in the final as they played well, but New Zealand deserved to win, at least NZers will be happy tomorrow, Rugby is a religion in New Zealand.

Sent from a cool Apple product using Aust Freq Fly app

Rugby is a religion in New Zealand.

Driving around NZ last week, the number of All Blacks flag on display was astronomical. On highway signs, in windows, on cars, on gates etc etc etc. Lots of national pride.

Those two missed goals in the second ½ - excruciating!

It would have been a[n unofficial] national day of mourning in TLOTLWC if the result had been reversed.

I was working in AKL back in Nov 1999 when the RWC was on & the locals were carrying on like it was a one horse race & the possibility of losing just wasn't an option.

Well the inevitable happened & they lost so for the next 5 days straight the front page of the Auckland Herald was dominated by stories on the All Blacks loss, Taine Randell this, Taine Randell that.

What amazed me was the fatal crash of Egypt Air flight MS990 on 31Oct99 that killed 217 people not only didn't make it to page one but was relegated to the second section of the newspaper.

I vaguely recall something like this (although this one applied to 2003):
ahhh..can we stay in Oz.jpg

Reminds me of England, there’s a fair bit of national pride there…

… despite much disappointment.

Yep, good to see NZ finally get 2 World cups under their wing, to match Australia's record.

Amazing stats before the game NZ have scored the most points by clear 600-odd, only team to have top their pool in every world cup and some other things. But only now have they won it twice.

OMG so disgusted over the latest QP/ BA lounge access debacle that I've ventured onto FT again
Last time FWIW was on the announcement of removal of ATA.
Think I need a large Scotch ;)
