Well done John! That's the beauty of Matchplay - you can blow a hole - even pick up before having a chance to put... but its only Win, Lose or Halve a hole - 11 over means little for matchplay - "purists" don't even score or write a card. I've won some and I've lost some but all in all it's enjoyable.

Came across a couple of beauties today.
Brainiac 1-I was travelling north and as I approached a set of traffic lights about 5 metres short they went to orange and I safely preceeded through.60-70 metres behind the 4 wheel drive accelerated and went through a red light.we had just passed the Police station and I had noticed a bright red car pull in behind him.it also accelerated.Not even an unmarked car but a bright red QLD Highway patrol car.

Expert travellers-Mrsdrron went in to collect mail.I visited the Newsagent to get a Powerball entry.When I came out there was a young woman sitting with 3 young boys loudly running around and deliberately running into people and laughing.She said nothing but one of the boys called her mum.Inside was another woman with 3 more young children.one let out a piercing scream.The agent told mrsdrron that the 2 women + the 6 kids had been there an hour getting passports.The kids wouldn't behave when taking their photos,one urinating on the floor.
So be warned if you are flying an international LCC probably over the holidays,they may be on your flight.

We decided to also play in the event of the day which was a stroke round.

I love match play. I have won the social club handicap match play 3 times since 2000. I have won the golf clubs handicap match play 3 times since 2000 including this year. I have won the golf clubs B grade match play once and this year was B grade championship in match play format.

I have never played pennants but think would be good to try out B grade pennants somewhere. Our golf club does not field a team.

I think Cruiser's reference was to the choking aspect of Greg Norman's game.

Looks like JohnK and I need to have a match play round soon. I won my quarter final of our Social Golf Club a month ago 6 & 5 and then on Sunday, won my semi final 3 & 1. With both of them, I got to 4 up at different stages and never relinquished control.

Now to play the final - can I get my name on the mug again...
