You know what sucks? Getting a sweet updated A330 from MEL to SYD, then getting a coughpy old one from SYD to SIN.

Wrong way around!

Are QF regularly putting on A330s on the monorail or the golden triangle, or only when they so happen to need to (re)position them?

My impression was that domestic was all 738s except for regional routes and coast-to-coast

Yes, regularly ... early this month I flew MEL-SYD in a reconfigured 332 before my 744 to HKG.

My luck was in as my return direct MEL flight was subbed to a new config 333 sometime the night before.

My flights SYD-MEL-SYD on June long weekend show 332 both ways. Guess they are expecting a few extra travellers.

It's a bit of a shame really as the Rebels were still a chance of making the finals before this result. A couple of Aussie teams in the finals would be good for the game in a World Cup year and the Rebels making it would have been good for Rugby in Victoria. Maybe next year.

Can say I've been following the table at all really. But, as best I can tell, a rebels win last would've pushed the brumbies out of the finals, at this stage. Still 4 rounds to go.

Sometime things are so hard to explain or even comprehend.

I studied the formguide yesterday and chose a horse to back in 37 different races in UK, South Africa and Singapore. Yes I know but it keeps me sane.

When I got to the TAB last night I could not find the paper I wrote down my selections. :( I quickly checked the same formguide in the TAB and backed a horse in the 37 different races and went home. I did manage to find the paper I wrote the original selections. It was on the floor at home. Must have slipped from my pocket.

This morning I checked the results using my original selection list and I came across one race where my selection won and paid $51. I thought great and then realised I may not have backed that horse. Why get that feeling? Yep you guessed right. I managed to get 36/37 of my original selections right and the one I missed paid $51 for the win.

If you believe in coincidence this makes no sense. If you believe is something else it still makes no sense....

Ringing a company who tell you they can't help you and put you through to an engaged number; it happened once; then I phone back and said don't put me through to an engaged number then it happened again with about a 20 second delay, I rang back again and said give me the number.

Don't move address too much hassle.

In more pleasing news Fremantle are still 2 games clear on top of the AFL ladder, and West Coast are 2nd, even got an award flight to Melbourne for the grand final, now to try and buy or find a ticket without it costing the earth.

isn't also international scotch day??
Today(still Sunday here in NYC) is officially World Hypertension Day.Appropriate that I am attending the American Society of Hypertension's conference.
Those lucky enough to be at Niagara Falls tonight will see the falls illuminated in the colours of the World Hypertension League-Blue,White and Pink.

I stopped punting in 1968.I and a mate had been the School bookies from 1959-1963.We were the second year through our High School and no one in the first year had stepped up.We never lost betting on the Melbourne Cup.
I kept having a regular bet when I went to Uni.It was the 1968 Epsom and I had to go on a family picnic up the Colo River. So had a bet at the TAB that morning.Put $10 each way on Cabachon the favourite. It was Number 2 at the TAB.Race time came and I looked at my ticket-I had placed my money on number 3-Unpainted at 66-1.Listened to Ken Howard calling the race. They came around the turn and Cabacon hit the font-he's leading by 1 length,2 lengths,4 lengths.London to a brick Cabacon has this won.He goes to the post, wait a minute, somethings shot down the outside.Its,its,its....Unpainted.
Decided if the only way to have a big win was to make a mistake I was not going to bet again.Well I did back Rain Lover that year and again when my son at the age of 1 told me to back Think Big.But that was the last time I backed a galloper.

I got the Rain Lover/Fileur combination (quinella 1968/69?), on the advice of my 15yo. brother! But never got in to the gallops.

Worked with a guy who part-owned two trotters (sorry, Pacers) - one a relative of the great Hondo Grattan, the other an unknown. Went to the trots at Hawksbury one afternoon/evening with this guy, and the other one (Crimson Glory) was in one leg of the daily double. Got there and the trainer says to double it up with another of his runners, about 10yo, who had been out to grass for about 5 years with bad legs and was making a (brief) comeback. Took the advice and won enough that night to put a 25% deposit on a block of land for our house. Decided it was not likely to be an experience I would repeat, so gave away punting that same night. BTW, of the 5 of us who went there that night, I won the least!

I never dis bet on the red hots unless I knew the nag was going to wine.Fortunately I did know a fellow who did.;)

You can't win. Well not all the time. Less chance of winning by backing favourites.

I have an almost foolproof system I have worked out over the years. Only problem is I need to stop time for 1 minute after the pool for the race has clised and then have a bet. I make a profit each time I have looked at results.
