The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes

Found this article quite helpful

I was getting a "central database" error (4002 [7597]) when trying a multi-city booking and it told me enough to know I needed to call.

I was on the phone with the lady in the call center for a bit over 3/4rs of an hour, but she managed to get the Emirates Z tickets to come through eventually.

From the comments she made it looks like there was a handshaking / timeout problem with the Emirate booking system that with patience she was able to work through.

Waived the fee for assistance as well.

Not something QANTAS IT can really make go away, though they could certainly give a better error message.

So I got an error "15079 - 23951 - 421" before the payment page for a multi-city (CBR-MEL-SYD-AKL) booking. Previous posts seemed to indicate previous attempts "looking" at a booking may have been the issue.

On the home page I notice the Cart symbol shows a (1) and "remove trip" - this was the same itinerary it seems
Navigate to Account Summary page, and the Cart shows the (1) again - now there's another previous search result I need to "remove trip
Back to the Home page, again another Cart (1) and another search result to remove....

Previously, I thought these cart items were only created once you go to the Passenger Details screen, I could be wrong - perhaps it was once you go from Passenger Details to Payment Screen, a PNR was created, and that was able to be resumed.

This current workflow seems problematic if it's blocking out reward seats. I tend to go through multiple iterations of itinerary when planning a trip!
