The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes.

Available on the app only ... a new late evening QF5 A380 service SYD to LHR. It's over £1200 cheaper than QF1. I was so tempted to try to change to this.

Currently unable to change my PIN.

Forced by QF Premier CC site yesterday to change (as usual when all I want to do is view my statement) - since have not been able to reset. Website displays the screen for about 1.5 secs and then jumps back to the QFF Homepage.

Final straw with Premier CC - I'll now revert to using my Westpac Black card for non-Amex purchases.

Regards,

BD

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

It's selling on the normal website.

I reckon it's a 'positioning' flight being the first refitted aircraft.. May as well get some money out of it I guess if they are sending it around that area!

Not an IT error:

Not likely to be positioning for refit in May when the refits are meant to start in late June or early July. More likely to be a one way charter.
If there is an extra A380 going to LHR that day, which flight isn't going?
I wonder where they got that 1620 LHR slot from. That isn't one of the slots they are leasing to BA.

What's annoyed me of late is while actively doing something on the site up pops an almost full screen "Need help? Let's chat" pop-up that requires a click to remove. Why show a pop-up at all if you are active and moving through the site - but even if so, how about a discrete pop-up on the side that you can click or happily ignore.

A double strike tonight. Using the points calculator and it won't give me LHR or MAD or HEL to any Asian port. (Nor MEL-CMB, but that's another story)

So, the chat thing pops up. Great! I think. I'll ask them what the points and SCs are for a couple of combos. So i click on the chat thing and get an empty 'Contact us' box with a 'Close' cross on it.

Absolutely freak'n useless. (And even though 'IB' is in the airline box, the result is the same if the airline isn't selected).

Why can't my Frequent Flyer Profile page allow me to save my ABN? I have to enter it every single time.
I just merged my Qantas Business Rewards and FF as I was prompted to do on my last login, hopefully this solves the issue.

Also a number of times lately the Qantas booking engine falls over when I get to the purchase page, it is certain legs that trip it up, though you can do it over the phone no issue.

Also.. Why oh why can't I just tick all legs of the flight and then click request upgrade rather than having to go through the entire process form the beginning with each leg.

And when you do add it it takes you out of the booking and you have to click again to go back into MMB. Every single time. It sticks on the phone though.

and why can't I see my lifetime status on the app - very annoying as I near LTG
It would probably be one of those "low volume, low value" features which gets pushed out and not implemented. Only very few people would frequently (or at all) monitor it on the go so the function can be limited to the more static web interface. And even for those who'd check it on the go, it most likely would not change how they behave or the frequency of transactions (purchases), hence putting money on that feature would likely be rated as having low or even negative return.

I add a car booking to an existing trip. I'm landing in Sydney 20.10 on the Wednesday, departing 16.45 on the Friday. Automatic entry wants to book the car from 21.30 on the Wednesday. Obviously they have confidence in the published arrival time; pick the car up eighty minutes after landing!
Return the car is automatically entered as 21.30 on the Thursday, some nineteen hours before I'm due to depart?
How hard is it, when you have the booking details locked into the system, to simply do a car search based on reality? It's a minor thing and I soon modify search to something pertinent, but I really wish they'd let the work experience kids have a go. Any competent twelve year old would soon sort out this stuff.

This is how Qantas displays 'seat selection' for a B717 service SYD-HBA, in business. 3-1 Really?

On their own website, with their own plane, with the tool they give to select seats, they can't manage to show a standard seat configuration properly. Interestingly, EF (showing 2-2) shows row 3, as well as row 1 to be blocked (I'm a QFF Plat).

Is there a trick to have your FF booking added to your Qantas business rewards login? i've added the ABN but it doesnt flag.

can you not add it to the travellers profile - I can see mine in there

And another gripe - I have to call to change my email address FFS

Not long ago I received an email inviting me to merge my accounts. Amazingly, it worked! So both show up for me now.

I’ve been getting that message and I don’t dare. Qantas Business Rewards - set up for our business except none of our email addresses is accepted as Administrator so god knows what Qantas think it is. Thankfully I can transfer points ok. And I can’t call up to sort it as they want to speak with MrP and to be frank he doesn’t have time to deal with this kind of admin stuff. But I’m not actually seeing there’s any disadvantage anyway as it seems to do enough of what I want it to do.

After making my flight booking above, got an e-mail suggesting booking a hotel. I don't usually do this, but thought I'd have a look.

The rates were pretty good! So I went to book.

Except I can't. The payment page does not allow a cursor to be placed in the card number or the CVV area. When I tried to 'continue', without filling out the fields, hoping it would prompt something, note how those areas don't come up in red.

Frigg'n hopeless. I tried again just now - same result.

So I'll book somewhere else. Lose a customer this time and I won't bother again. Well done, Qantas IT.

And who calles the 3 digit security number on the back 'CSC' ?

Nah. Couldn't be bothered.

Picked up my phone and Booked a room at the Sofitel in Sydney using my Accor phone app.

When Accor IT is more workable then yours, you have a real problem.

New thing I have noticed - am flying Chile to Australia - now at T-24hrs the date difference seems to infect. If I go into my bookings it tells me that I have already flown!! So no change of seat option. Having said that, using expertflyer it appears I have a magical shadow next to me - so I cannot complain.
