Ute crashes into Jetstar aircraft on tarmac at Sydney Airport

A ute driven by a security contractor has crashed into a Jetstar passenger aircraft on the tarmac at Sydney Airport, trapping the driver and forcing the plane to be pulled from service.

The crash happened about 5.30am on Monday while the A320 was being towed to an airport gate at the domestic terminal ahead of passengers being loaded onto the aircraft.

No-news are reporting the aircraft was being towed with no passengers on board. According to the article the ute collided with the “wing propeller” of the jet

While the exact circumstances of the crash unknown, the ute belonging to Sydney Airport ran into the wing propeller of a grounded plane at about 5:30am on Monday.

Spare parts might be an issue.

Ah, the summer intern got to write that one? 😂

And the ute was driven by a security contractor. I bet his boss is a little worried at the moment. Does his vehicle insurance cover colliding with an aircraft?

Huh???

Oh Murdock press. Sure JQ has propeller aircraft and damage to previously grounded planes cause several flights to be cancelled

Wonder how this happenned?
It’s quite amazing what drivers on airports fail to see. I’ve had them cut off the 380 a number of times.
There are reports of a medical event
Before or after?

It would be interesting to know how far back into the aircraft the engineers will have to go to look for damage. I’d expect that the pylon and attachment points will need to be looked at.

And that reminds me of a tale. Apparently, there was a tractor driver who had discovered that he could drive under the engines of the 747, and he’d taken to doing so, presumably as a cough magnifying exercise. Worked well until one day he showed off his little trick under a brand new 747ER. Sadly they had different engines. That was a medical event too, but not for long.

Perhaps the reporter has been as enthused by Douglas DC-3's and Caravelles as I was when a little kid and it has left permanent marks in them... 🤓

Or the article wasn't written by a reporter at all, and Newscorp is down to using freeware AI
