Its been a while since those were around I believe......

To solve the equation, JQ's 787 to CNS leaves at 08:00.......

I'm confused - how are screen shots of Tiger flights going to help people get into the F lounge?

The question is, unless you really need to go somewhere, why pay that much for breakfast? You could pay that for one of the buffet breakfast in 5 star hotels.

And more importantly - whats the plan B if your JQi B787 domestic tag flight is cancelled/goes tech/subsituted and you are rebooked on a domestic JQ A320 service? Your $54 champagne breakfast then becomes a $54 or $29 visit to the QP.

That's the cheap way of doing breakfast in the SYD F lounge. Some on AFF have been known to spend a lot more than that just to say they have been in the F lounge.

I guess if you are a regular visitor the excitement is not there anymore? Flying out of SYD next Wednesday morning and my first priority is to get the GST back on a ring bought last month and the refund is a lot less than the price quoted in this thread. If any time left over after that then a short visit to F lounge will be on the agenda.

A few JQ27s MEL-SYD have popped up over Mar/April, but not into May where the Tiger sale is.

For those who are newer to the forum, or haven't picked it up, for a good couple of years there were regular Jetstar flights departing SYD-MEL from the International terminal (on the way to DPS). One such flight was JQ35 (there were others, between different ports and on different days that you can use the helpful search tool, in AFF, to find).

For those wishing a bit of an outing, or the opportunity to catch up with other AFF members for the day, you could book a classic award MEL-SYD, transfer to the International Terminal, have lunch in the F Lounge and then return to MEL with JQ (many of us did this for one of the first B787 Dreamliner flights).

Of course, SYD based members could go to MEL on JQ35 and then return on a QF or VA flight booked with points. As this was an onward trip on the same day, members could use the respective lounge and invite guests for a drink and nibble - i.e. the MEL based members who had just returned home from lunch... (this in the days of an 'onward' fight required for lounge access or, dare I say it, anytime access).

When booking JQ35 (in this example) if a TT flight was departing SYD within 1 hour of the JQ flight, then JQ would price match - i.e. you could have a flight SYD-MEL for as little as $25... hence why people are posting TT flight deals (for those that didn't get the historical link).

Example:

I once had a $25 JQ voucher to spend.
I booked a classic award MEL-SYD with QF for 8,000 points.
I booked the JQ35 flight for $27.50 (with the TT price match).
I redeemed my $25 JQ voucher.
Cost = $2.50 + 8,000 points.

There are plenty of other memorable stories, which is why interest in this topic often arises and how it can be so incredibly unbelievable.
