Yes, fully agree with you Lindsay Wilson. Even the coffee/tea on the tray table has ripples on the surface from all of the vibrating.Lindsay Wilson said:Well, my Crash 8 flight CBR/SYD yesterday certainly reminded me why I like the noisy jets versus the reberverating Crash 8's...
I did SYD-WGA/return on Tues this week. The snack on the flight out was token (cold muffin & sesame snaps) but the return flight was better - crackers, cheese, dip, and four different wines.simongr said:I have never had a problem with the Dash-8's - flown many times to Wagga, Dubbo, Broken Hill, Mildura... in fact one of the nicest snacks I have had in flight was on a Dash-8 - Maggie Beer pate![]()

I find the views from a Dash-8 very good and the noise is not really a problem. Sometimes it is more annoying having to put up with the noise in the cabin of much larger aircraft.Yada Yada said:Flying on a QF Crash-8 is desperate in itself. Those aircraft are loud, buzzy, they vibrate too much, the view out most of the windows is hindered by the wings/propellors, and I dislike having to get off and get onto a bus for a 200m ride to the terminal in SYD.

The Embraers are OK for short flights but you wouldn't want to travel SYD-PER in one of them.Yada Yada said:I'd rather fly on Virgin Blue's Embraers any day.
Well, except when there is cloud cover and then it's worse than a jet, and bumpier.JohnK said:I find the views from a Dash-8 very good
Actually I wouldn't have a problem doing that. They are quite, smooth, fast, good seat pitch, the cabin feels larger than the Crash-8, guaranteed 2x2 seating, etc. When I flew BNE-CNS and return in a day it was not tiring at all, and by comparison the squishier seating on the 737 was not as comfortable. :-|JohnK said:The Embraers are OK for short flights but you wouldn't want to travel SYD-PER in one of them.
What is the seat pitch on the Embraers? Have you read my comments on AFF recently of my shins hitting the seat in front when stretching out my legs.Yada Yada said:Actually I wouldn't have a problem doing that. I do not have this type of issue on a 737 or Dash-8.

Why not? A return flight with a few extra segments along the way and you will be much closer to Platinum. And just think of the minimum 1,000 QFF points for each segment....serfty said:TB(quite)H, I would not want to be doing a SYD-PER on Dash-8.
