Credit Card Offers Suncorp Clear Options Platinum Offers & Discussion

Just posting this here in the hope that you of you Suncorp gurus might be able to help me out.

I opened a Suncorp card back in July 2023. Closed it in the same year, December 2023.

However, in my notes I see that I opened a different NAB partner card on March 2023 which was then closed in January 2024.

I wouldn't have opened a Suncorp card if I couldn't get the sign-up bonus. So, what other card might this NAB partner card be? I haven't had a Citigroup card yet either.

Pretty sure I've only ever had one Suncorp card before. Trying to figure out if I can sign up again or not.

Yours very confusedly,

Any of the Qantas or virgin money branded cards perhaps, or Kogan money?

I don’t think the Suncorp card has an exclusion period - check its terms and conditions.

Aha - thanks! Yes, it must have been one of the VA Money cards.

I know, I tried the QFF competition for a while. Don't like the product, but found them useful for reward seat availability so...

This is the final call for all Suncorp credit cards, including the Suncorp Clear Options Platinum, which I think is quite cheap:

$129 annual fee
$1 = 0.625 VA mile
$1 = 0.5 SQ mile

Sign on bonus after spending $4500 within 3 months is 100,000 Suncorp points, which equates:
- VA 62500 miles
- SQ 50000 miles

However, you must submit your application before 09 June 2025, as this product will be removed from sale on this date. You know, this card is Citi which is NAB, while Suncorp is now ANZ, you get the drift.

Their web site has a notice saying this is withdrawn from sale, but it's a broken link. Below is an e-mail I received from Citi this afternoon at 15:30.

After an established partnership, a decision has been made to end the arrangement between Suncorp Bank and National Australia Bank (NAB), the issuer of your existing Suncorp Bank Clear Options Platinum Credit Card.

At this time, there is no impact to the way you use your Suncorp Bank Clear Options Credit Card account. You can continue to access your Credit Card via Suncorp Bank Internet Banking, Suncorp Bank App, Digital Wallet and Telephone Banking. Future changes will be communicated to you in writing.

You may however notice that from 9 June 2025, Suncorp Bank Clear Options Credit Cards will no longer be available to new customers. This will not affect your Suncorp Bank Clear Options Credit Card account or the ability to add an additional card holder.

What does this mean for me?

Soon you will be receiving further information and a new physical Credit Card.

This new physical Credit Card will be branded MyCard and have a MyCard logo. NAB will continue to be the credit provider and issuer of your Credit Card. There will be no changes to your Credit Card number, expiry date, CVV, PIN or product features as a result of the change to MyCard.

As mentioned above, there are currently no changes to your product, including how you access and use your account. However, there will be future changes to your product and these will be communicated to you in writing at the relevant time.

I wish the ACCC would have looked closer at NAB taking over the credit card world
And also Suncorp sold their banking business to ANZ. To me, the impact of Suncorp Bank being sold to ANZ is a lot more serious. Suncorp is the only bank I actually like, because of their customer service level and generally competitive pricing. All the reasonably good banks are gone, leaving us with bottom of the barrel cough.

I can't see an exclusion period - can anyone see what I am missing? I closed very early June last year
