it's funny how things turn out when you really need it. In my case what a relief. Thanks again. I would never have gotten the points and direction on my own. :)

Either way I've selected and "paid for" via taxes (hehe) a seat as advertised. Do i have any recourse if they come back with actually no, sorry, this flight/aircraft/seat scenario doesn't exist?

You've paid for a seat as advertised, but that only applies if the seat is actually there and available. Then you get what's advertised. The contract of carriage however doesn't guarantee that seat will be available... there could be a schedule change, aircraft change, or route cancellation. We saw this recently with some routes going from three class with F to three class without F (but with PE).

If that happens you have several options... either ask for a reroute via a port with F, accept accommodation in business class (and you'll get some points back, and possibly some other compensation as well), or get a refund. If you are departing from the EU and there's a change within 14 days of departure you may have statutory rights in the event of a downgrade.

It's strange that revenue fares aren't available. I have no doubt you're currently booking in the F cabin, paying F prices, but it doesn't seem like the airline has committed to this yet, or else there's an IT screw up somewhere.

Second time in Suites to ZRH early this month and SQ is still #1 in our list of 7 airlines we have flown F with.

Just booked SYD-SIN-ZRH-ZAG for next year and the loop hole is still there (adding star alliance flight). The miles required went down from 148000 flying SQ alone to 132,500 by adding a star alliance flight.

Maybe we get to try the new suites next year.

Thanks for the tips. I am flying Suites out of ZRH in about 1 month so am keen to hear more. Did you enjoy the lounge? And what were meals like?

We only flew SQ on the way to ZRH so we only used SYD and SIN lounges and both were awesome with great (Asian) food selection. Not sure about ex ZRH. For in flight meals, I usually book the cook with Boston Lobster for Lunch/Dinner and Nasi Lemak for breakfast :D Love the food SQ offers in both lounge and in the sky. I'm Asian though so the taste might be different.

Sorry, misread your post. I thought it was out of ZRH for some reason  The nasi lemak is nice, I have had it a few times.

Cruiser, please report back on your experience as I know you are going through ZRH a few weeks before me. That way I know what the good stuff is straight away :D

I used the call centre for half of our bookings today and it was faster than I did the 2 outgoing sectors.

Finale you booked direct with SQ using KF miles?

Yep. KF miles only. I don't know any other way to book SQ F. Adding Star Alliance, I had to call to book though. Tax/Surcharge to ZRH was only $91 but adding ZAG, it became around $170. Looks like $80 was what Croatia Air charges. Quite happy to save the miles with a bit of tax/surcharge. The flight to ZAG itself would be $400+ in business or $100+ in Y (even if it's a cough J on dash-8 which will be the same as Y but sit in front with J service lol) EU business standard is meh anyway.

Yep working our fingers to the bone infinity. Had the massage in my Infinity Riage massage chair so it's all good. Our next long hauls are to Los Angeles & New York then London then Los Angeles. Only London is Suites now for us.

Wasn't yesterday. Beef burger is. Tiny but tasty.

When I was in there last week, lobster and foie gras were gone-ski.
Actually, the food offering in TPR leaves much to be desired.
There is nothing vaguely exotic on the menu at this point in time.

And, I have had the distinct feeling of slippage in standards and cost cutting,
in my last 6 trips, 4 in J and 2 in F, in April and June.

I have 4 F trips in July, so I hope to be proved wrong.

Lobster was definitely on menu on Tue 20th - and infinity was waiting for his to be served to him yesterday.

But in general I agree - the menu seriously needs a shake up - basically hasn't changed for couple of years. I see no slippage in what is actually served to you it just needs a menu refresh IMHO.

Also bear in mind contractors run the Lounge - not SQ directly - not offering excuses just noting it - only way to get action is to continually give feedback - [email protected] is where to send it.

And for those lamenting the disappearance of foie gras - I hope you all know how it is produced - foie gras

I see no slippage in what is actually served to you

Completely agree. I've been through the TPR a bit too often lately, and have been perfectly happy with everything I've had. And the chefs will of course tweak things to your heart's desire if you're so inclined.

I think lobster and foie gras is now only served after 6.30pm in the dinner menu.
My photo of the menu shows lunch menu is served 10.30am to 6.30pm.
And I was there at 5.45pm or thereabouts.
Tried to post menu pic but image too big - can't be bothered to resize.

The slippage is in service standards,
in the J cabin.

You are right, TPR menu hasn't changed in yonks, so that is in a perverse way, consistent.
Except for no lobster and foie gras before 6.30pm. That is cost cutting.

This is also cost-cutting: in Suites, "let me know when you want your pyjamas and your slippers."
What ? Just give me them things NOW already. (This was not verbalised obviously).
Actual event: after 10 minutes, "I'll need those pyjamas and slippers now, please."
And I'd gifted the whole crew A LOT of chocolates.
To be fair though, many came up to thank me personally.
