Hi - I know that you can check out the new posts but I'd really like a link where I can check out new threads because if I don't check for a few days and they don't get a lot of replies then you can miss them. I really hope there is something like that already and I'm just being incompetent. :)

I'm not sure there is, however if you open the Austfreqfly twitter account that does have a list of every new thread.

Edit: funny we were thinking the same thing!

I thought all the new threads went onto twitter as well but often I see one that wasn't on there

Thanks HVR but get an error message - sorry no matches error for that search

So all AFF members should join coughter too? Yeah like hell - I'd rather drink rancid milk!

You do not need to be a member of Twitter to see the posts made to that account.

An AFFer sent this to me many years ago, sorry I can't remember who it was.
Link doesn't work for me either.

I think that link is meant to go to the same thing as if you were on the full site of AFF and you clicked on "New Posts" (can't remember the exact name now).

This actually processes a search which brings up threads you haven't read new posts in, sorted in time order.

Every new search request in the forum software is given a new search ID (which you can see in the URL). Eventually these search IDs expire so a link of that style won't work after a while, and will rarely work between different users.

Going to the Unread section of the app gives a similar list of threads.

In any case, neither of these directly answer the OP, since they both being up new posts. Some of these include new threads, but they also include new posts in existing threads. At least on the desktop version of the website, the New Posts search is sufficient for me as the threads which are new to me are easy to deduce.

I I posted this over the weekend as a aworkaround. Its for mobile access.

Here's the same links for the full desktop site:

Discussion Board | Australian Frequent Flyer

New Posts | Australian Frequent Flyer

Recent Posts | Australian Frequent Flyer

As announced by Admin, there are changes afoot & these may be moot in some weeks.

New Posts have posts on threads that you have not read for the past 10 days.

If I am busy for 3-4 days I usually go to the end of New Posts and work my way forward through the threads. Forums that don't interest me I mark all the posts as read and I can get New posts down to around 100 posts which is manageable.
