Strategy to obtain US Amex

I’ve just d/g to business green. I didn’t quite want to let go of the pay over time limit. I don’t think I’ll use it but best to have it just in case. They offered me a retention offer of 15k points for $5k spend which I thought was pretty ordinary. Was told they’d pro rats as @levelnine has described. I think I lose $40 in pro rated AF for 2 days so that’s a bit harsh but could’ve lost the lot. I will give it some more thought over the next year. It does have our well known foreign conversion charge so I’ll be mindful of that before I consider using it.

Anyone have any thoughts on the new Chase Business card coming out next week? Not sure what the opening offer will be but heard rumours of 200k points.. MS is very high at 30k USD

How soon after annual fee posting did you downgrade? I assumed if you cancelled within 30 days of AF posting you got a full refund?

Keep an eye on the Chase Sapphire family. I'm not in the demographic for the Reserves but I hope they don't mess with the CSP. I like it just the way it is. The 1.25 for travel booked on their portal is good for small airlines that aren't in an alliance like Solomon Airlines. Apparently the multiplyer is going away after Oct 2025 for points earned up to those dates but you can still use them at old rates for 2 years.

Agree CSP is great value at moment - the CSR personal and business are very "couponised" - haven't looked too much into it but it seems like an effort to use to at moment to get value, but have not excluded. Any know what the SUB offer will be - might consider for a year but only got CSP 2 months ago

What value are you getting from CSP? I have redeemed some points to hyatt. I do use the 3x reward points fot online supermarkets in Australia. Apart from that is there much else?

Yes, I’d like to know what you are missing, as I’m probably missing it as well.

Sorry I meant in terms of getting a 100K SUB for 95 AF - (compared to 795 for CSR with unknown SUB)
The ongoing value is nothing exceptional beyond 3x for restaurants/food and having a VISA option that is accepted everywhereI am using the DD pass offer and the 10pm makes the card free

What is the DD pass?
