I will, however, admit to a couple of "starclass-runs" which were of immense help!

The $64 question is :- "As an ex QC/Silver - will I notice the difference?" [Apart from the complimentary QC ... which will come in handy now that my company has dropped their corporate scheme].

Cheers,

SC runs on home turf (AU/NZ) are a pretty much gone. :(

There can be good SC runs in Asia (80 SC for approx AU400 for example) (SIN-KUL rtn on JL in J)

Don't forget the amazing value a carefully planed K/YUPP can be if you find yourself in NA.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

NZ's not too bad; NZD71 for 10 SC's - in raw terms that's about $6 per SC.

Now *Class has gone up to $349 (for 40 SC's) NZ is better value.

Given that Silvers don't get comp. access to the QP, I doubt you'll notice any difference at all, aside from having to line up with the plebs instead of using the J line.
That in and of itself is worth the QP membership price.

Apart from complimentary lounge access I think you should get better seat allocation on most flights, move up a notch on the FF points upgrade list, find that you are treated better by QF customer service and don't forget the extra 25% status bonus, 50% status bonus with QF Gold.

Yes - I think the additional 25% uplift on points is the most tangible benefit, but I am wondering about OneWorld status. I will move from Ruby to Sapphire, and as I have a lot of BA flights coming up I was hoping that it will be useful. My first impression (from the Status page on the web), is that the additions are "Boarding at convenience" and "Lounge Access". As a QC member I already get BA-lounge access for myself and a guest, but travelling as a family of four this still leaves half of them out in the cold. Do you think that I can convince the Dragons that as a QC member and a Sapphire status member I should really be allowed 2 guests? No - don't answer that.

So it looks to me like "Boarding at convenience" is about it. How fabulous!

Cheers,

Andrew
