St George Amplify Signature Card 60,000 Qantas/Amplify points - Annual fee $279

This still doesn't answer my question "What other Visa/MCard earns me KF miles?".

I currently earn about 24,000 Amplify points per month (on non-Amexable spend) so over 12 months will expect to earn 300,000 points or 150,000 KF miles (plus 10% birthday bonus,m so 165,000 KF miles).
Ok, so I follow your advice and I dump this card and wait out my 12 month exclusion...... for a mere 60-90,000 points?
(I can't see me buying ~$18000 of Visa1 cards per month on my Amex Explorer.)

I agree, perhaps Ralph's strategy is to have another card with a sign on bonus while riding out this exclusion. Might not earn 0.75 but perhaps 0.5 therefore then the gap is closer.

I'm keeping this card and my explorer+edge combo.

Me too, but there is not a one size fits all approach.

Strategy will vary depending on one's own circumstances.

If your spend is low then churn everything makes sense.

For others, keeping cards that earn high points and churning all other cards for the sign-on bonii make more sense.
- If you value KF points as being worth more than QFF points (and I do by a large margin) including their fuel fines, then the point at which you keep select cards is lower.

Yes I don’t plan to churn this one. It is way too valuable in 2018.

Thanks, guys. I didn't think there was anything better out there but as Dr Ralph is the undisputed "King of churn-n-burn" and very dogmatic I wanted to be sure I wasn't missing anything.

CE & cove, you've both been fantastic help and mentors, thank you very much. Mrs C and I have had this card only since 11/17 and we've snared 2xJ return to Europe for June/July next year - easy J saver availability on SQ (with one sector instantly upgraded to saver F) whereas on same day looking at QFF right on 10:00:01h - nix, nada, zip, nuffin: did find one day with Y availability to LHR but taxes were a lot more than SQ's $90.

I'd strongly agree with the opinions that 1 KF = 2 QFF points and I've adjusted my points earning strategy with this in mind.

It all comes down to personal preference and spending patterns and what works for you.

My regular spend is pretty low except for occasional big purchases so it would take me several years of spend to get a meaningful number of points. So churning works well for me timing my churning to achieve the sign up bonus by making my big purchases.

Coriander our lives are intermixed now with lots of Kris Miles. Mrscove lent me her Amplify CC and she is close to a millionaire. I have started her sister so it should be zoom, zoom zoom.
I am on a train going from Glenfield to Cirdular Quay for sightseeing. Quite different to looking out a plane window.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

What is the exclusion period? Not immediately obvious.
Even without looking I can tell you it will be 12 months. That's the standard exclusion period for all St George and St George bank related (Bank of Melbourne and BankSA) cards.

UPDATE:

This is stated via the link I provided in #427 under the heading 'What else do I need to know?':

'Existing customers who currently hold a Amplify Platinum or Amplify Signature card issued by St.George, Bank of Melbourne or BankSA, or who have held one in the last 12 months, are not eligible for this offer.'

I cancelled my card in October. This week I received two complimentary Qantas Club invitations.

Odd.
This is an old post, but did you ever switch from Amplify Rewards to Amplify Qantas (or vice versa)?
I have an idea why that may be the case.

Does anyone know what happens to the 10% birthday bonus if you switch from the Qantas to the Amplify Rewards programme during the year?

On your birthday, you only get the bonus for the points earned in the program currently enrolled.
I did this. Makes sense.
Best to minimise earn during the wasted 10% duration for that reason.

Now appears this card is 80K qantas points and $0 annual fee for year one (normally $279). 2 Lounge passes included. Yes please!

Correct. This change was reported here more than two weeks ago:

St George Amplify card - $139 for 90k points (discounted fee via specific link)

Critically you do not mention that you need to use a specific link to get this fee free offer (nor do you provide any link at all for the deal). You really need to make people aware of this and provide the link to get the fee free offer. Make sure you use the link I originally provided (Amplify Signature | St.George). If you go straight from the StGeorge page the fee will show as $179.

Dr Ralph whe does the fee free option expire?

T&Cs:

The bonus points and $0 annual card fee is available to customers who apply via this website (offer not available in branch or via call centres) and are approved for a new Amplify Signature Qantas Rewards credit card between 20th November 2018 and 23rd January 2019.
