SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Yes R and F pax have arrival access to TPR and indeed it usually is printed on BP but the Gold invite card is still a unique SQ initiative and should be handed to ALL R and F pax prior to boarding. Thanks for offering this up @Cruiser Elite but it isn’t for me.
I did a long cut to London by starting in Sydney rather than Perth as Perth only has business class.
Sure I did the Krug and then the icy vodka with the caviar because I could.
Then leaving London SQ check in did not want to give us a Singapore Private Room invite for Singapore because we were flying to Perth business class. Anyway we were on board and we received the invite about 15 minutes prior to the doors closing on the plane. Looks like SQ are doing cut backs.

Just want to add a note. Flew from SGN-SIN in J and then from SIN-MEL in F. Did not receive special TPR invite. They just scanned my boarding pass at TPR after I landed in SIN. The SQ F experience is good but you have to DYOR to maximise it as they don’t actively advertise TPR on arrival etc.

As of today I am officially relinquishing my ‘AFF No1 SQ FAN BOI’ title. It is now openly available to anybody who wants to assume the title.

I have spent the last 5mths arguing to and from with SQ / KF backend over a F class downgrade to J due to equipment substitution.

For those who know SQ hard product - I was downgraded from 1C on 777 to this:

As a result of previous similar equipment substitution I was able to negotiate a 1 sector upgrade J to F as compensation - but this time after multiple emails back and forth the only compensation I have reluctantly agreed to is 5,000 KF pts - they just would not budge any further.

The final straw was finding out that indeed the entire row 19 ATPIT is indeed not occupied - 19A and 19K are the only seats in J on this aircraft that have any extra space at all - I requested minimalist compensation by them to at least allocate me 19K ( I am RHD) and that I was more than happy to move if indeed this bassinet seat was required by another pax with infant on day of travel - but they even this request was refused.

So that’s it I am out - we are now officially divorced.
So who's the new love?

Ahh okay I understand what you mean now, indeed for many Suites would be a once in a lifetime thing and you would definitely want the Golden Ticket as a souvenir. Yeah that’s lazy at best and cost cutting at worst to save giving out the paper.

I was reading just now in the distant past, having a Suites redemption ticket wasn’t enough for TPR access, you needed a full paid cash ticket for Suites - that’s what I’d call stingy - glad that’s long been relaxed.

Sorry but that is just incorrect - R and F redp tix pax have always had access to TPR

Yes we just scraped in last week. We were flying on a 777 from London to Singapore and had a few hours layover so it was nice to get into TPR despite next flight to Perth being business class.

So who's the new love?
No new love - SQ will still be major carrier for next 12mths or so - I have 3 x Euro + 3 x China bound R, F and Jo flts locked in - unless forced downgrades by SQ that is.

The obliteration of affordable cultivation and harvesting of KF pts over last 12mths coupled with illegality of CC surcharges post Oct 1 will play havoc with rdpts on all airlines - so I guess I will be back to comm tix - first time in 20years I must add - who with ATPIT I have NFI 🤷‍♂️

I have Amex Velocity, HSBC Star Alliance and then US Amex and US Chase Sapphire to get Kris Miles.
US credit cards are becoming more important.
