Just a thought as I couldn't find it anywhere i search, is it possible to book 4 award seats in first for the same flight on saver award seats?

Has anyone been successful?

In my experience, they generally only release 2 saver awards in F. In theory, you might pick up 2 more via a saver waitlist. Now some of the MEL F flights are only 4 seats in F, I imagine those becoming available is very unlikely.

hmm that's an idea.

I guess if you points to burn you could book 2 saver and 2 standard and also wait list the 2 savers. Then hope the wait list gets released and just have to cancel the standard and book the waitlisted flight.

Yes - but you can't waitlist for saver awards on the same flight you have confirmed standard awards.

Your spouse/partner could?

yes - the pax on waitlist would need to be on another flight, but I'm not sure why you'd book them in a standard award on the other flight? Wouldn't you book them straight into saver, waitlisting for saver on the alternative flight?

It all depends upon how much you all need to travel together. When I am travelling with the Gentleman and MasterC, we get two savers and one standard. However, if you are talking about 4 adults who can all travel relatively independently, I would just split up and grab 2 sets of savers on separate flights. Even if it was a day apart. You can't always be picky with your travel dates - F savers tend to get snapped up quite quickly.

A couple of questions on the A350 J class seat.

a) In the two middle seats are the small footholes located in the centre or the aisle side?
b) To watch Netflix off your iPad onto their screen, does a standard USB cord work or do you need a special cord?

Thanks!

How can I check if there are any bookings made in F for a particular flight? I want to try and book MNL-SIN-MEL in F for early December, and a dummy revenue booking showed only the bassinet seat was occupied... so I'm reasonably sure its empty.

I want to put forward a plea to open one seat up at saver level in F and want to arm myself with as much info as I can to put case forward. Or am I just wasting time?

Expert flyer would be your best bet. If you don't already have an account sign up and you get a free week with all the features such seat map and bucket search

Recently read somewhere that you can let SQ know if your flight is for a special occasion and they may organise you a cake or something "special". I have a couple of J award seats booked through velocity for my wife and I's 10 year wedding anniversary to CDG. Do they do this for Velocity rewards, and how do I organise this? It would be a nice little surprise for her, as she knows everything else going on for the getaway.

I think to watch stuff off your iPad will will need a lightening to HDMI converter and plug the ipad into the HDMI port .
There is also an eXport socket which used to use one of these

Griffin eXport In-Flight Video Cable for iPod and iPhone - iPhone / iPod audio / video / data cable with power adapter - 3 ft Overview

but I have not seen one with a lightening connector on. HDMI is probably tghe way to go

Do you mean waitlist rather than release a saver? that's doable, then get them to send a chaser to try and get it cleared.

You can give singapre airlines a call to arrange this. It's on request only, not guaranteed.

I am not sure how that can assist as SQ do not seem to be that fussed about filling their empty seats with redemptions.

SQ often fly with empty F seats. Two of the Suites flights I have been only had 3 and 4 people (with my wife and I being 2) in peak time to Europe when the rest of the plan seemed pretty full.

For just a one-off query post your flight details here: Flight Availability/Loadings & Upgrade Probability Help Desk and someone should be able to give an indication of how full the flight is.

Note that seat maps are not a good indicator, as the flight may be full, but no-one has selected their seats yet.
