Well I have left the T3 SKL F lounge now; shouldn't take too long to repair the damage and replenish the booze stocks...
(And are people following me around? I ran into @boomy in the MEL QFd J lounge on Tuesday)

Has anyone ever had experience/ luck with KF reversing a points transfer to VFF. I shifted a heap of points to KF for upgrade but I’ve had to cancel my flights (ironically it is departing right now). They are depositing my points back into KF (just waiting for them to confirm they are waiving deposit fee in circumstances) but I want them back in VFF as that’s who my next long haul flights will be on.

Obviously trying to avoid the transfer conversion a 2nd time.

Is there ability to add a domestic VA flight to a *A award? Looking at going MEL-SYD-IAH-MEX and return for a wedding, and the ability to 'tack on' MEL-SYD-IAH-MEX as a positioning flight would be dandy.

IAH-MEX seems most likely in Y, but for two hours we'll manage.

Edit : I have a confirmed bkg and wanted to add a WL for 5 days earlier on the same sectors in May. After a long ph wait, got onto SIN agent who has kindly put me on a WL and holding the confirmed bkg.
If it comes through the total cost will only be change fee USD25. Have a good feeling I'll get lucky.

I have a confirmed bkg and want to add a WL but I have mislaid the Kris flyer phone number. Does anyone have it please?

I've forgotten - can I do a WL without transferring more points? I have a feeling I was supposed to do the WL and then the confirmed bkg.
+61 2 8228 1188 - +65 6789 8188 - same same

Can I phone up and put a hold on some seats with a zero points balance, and then transfer from Amex - or do I need to have the points in my account?

I've put a hold on when have had zero points balance. Only quirk now is yoully incur the telephone booking efe to do so.

I've tried to do some reading on it but there's nothing coming up with any VA references in *A awards - presumably due to VA not technically being a part of *A unfortunately.

Which program are you making the booking through? If it's SQ the call centre may be able to assist with adding on a VA flight, considering their link up with SQ.

Good luck!

I’ve oreviiisky been told can only hold a seat where you’re short of points if you have at least 50% of required points in your account.

I have called with zero points in my account, put a booking on hold, done transfer and called back to finalise once the points have arrived. If it's not all SQ there is always the risk the *A flights will be released back into the pool while you wait for the transfer to come through.

I will say, I did like Etihad dine on demand. I just found it so easy, give meal choices on boarding, discuss timing ect and that was it. Found it relaxing in comparison to SQ where you sit and wait and wait and wait until its your turn.

Agree with this 1000%. Flew SQ J MEL-SIN-MEL last month and while it was overall a pleasant experience and the food and wine good, Etihad wins hands down.

I'm looking to do a rewards redemption on SQ246 (A350) from Brisbane at 23.55pm and then immediatly transit to another location in SE Asia.
I havent flown J on SQ before, looking for opinions from those who have flown J and Y on this red-eye?

I am wondering whether its worth it to spring the extra 30000 points for J, considering most of the overnight flight will be asleep (or trying too, I am a coughpy sleeper anyway). My thoughts are that if I want to enjoy the luxury of J, i would rather do that daytime.

I have flown out of BNE a few times in Y before at midnight on SQ and MY, and always found the flights reasonably comfortable, because i am dead tired by that time anyway.

I think that's only something you can decide :) I would argue the whole point of J is to be able to sleep comfortably when you need to. As for the 'luxury' of J - outside of mealtimes the whole benefit is the bed. Otherwise you're just sitting there the same as you would in any other class... same IFE.

You also get more personal space in J

I've done this flight before in both. Personally I fly business class for the experience and the service not to sleep.

I also find on these red-eyes that I'm tired and sleep easier than usual.

We deliberately booked J on the 1am SQ departure from Melbourne so that we could get on board and get some sleep.
