Got $120 worth of these vouchers last week and was in transit at Changi yesterday. For some stupid reason, I thought we had 3 hours to kill. One hour passes, taking my time deciding what to buy with my vouchers, husband comes bolting over, screaming "the gate's closing!!". Sprinted to the gate (never ran so hard in my life!) and just made the flight. Sat in my horrible whY seat fuming at myself for having got the times muddled and subsequently not getting to spend $120 of "free" money!! Fast forward to today and I see the expiry is March 2014 and not 2013 as I'd thought! I should really learn to read properly!
so, itthat means if you travel sg or transit, u still can use it before march 2014?

great to know that they extended till 31 dec 2013. Hope i can grab mine and family end of the year when transit in sg. $40 each can have a good meal and some snack when combine. :D

Don't really know Changi airport. Am doing a Sydney London return August / October via terminal 1 so can they be redeemed there or do I have to go to T2 or 3. With +1 that's 160 not to be sneezed at.

You need to be transitting using Singapore Airlines &/or Silk Air, both of whom do (generally) not use T1.

Sorry dajop my mistake it's T3 I'm sure so I wont get lost.

OK not too difficult anyway, you should be able to redeem in T3. Just a watchout, sometimes flights on routes that depart from T3 actually arrive in T2 (and if on the non-stop from EWR or LAX may even arrive in T1 with staff pointing the way to T2 :!:), but again the skytrain to transfer terminals is well signposted.

Re: S$40 voucher for Singapore Airlines pax transiting thru Changi to use in airport

Well !

Unless your transit flight is on the same PNR, it won't be any good.

My +1's approach was rebuffed today as her onward flight (same day, also SQ) was on a different PNR.

Must be a small print somewhere telling us about this.

YES you need boarding pass, e-ticket and passport - you must be transiting - and SQ or MI will get you over the line.

I did not have e-ticket couple of flts and just explained I booked return flts home from China whilst I was in China and had no access to printer - was ok.

Have another 2 transits booked through SIN next 2 weeks which will then give me $320 Changi Dollars to spend - thinking I will buy an iPad from iStudio. Did a quick comparison iStudio price V Apple stores in OZ and converted S$ to A$ at todays Ozforex rate 1.1178 - interesting - but think this great way to spend those Changi $$$'s

Update: Now extended to 31 March 2016..........

Thanks for the info!! Those vouchers are so good especially as they can be stacked, be sure to check the expiry though where the dates are hole punched on the edges of the voucher!

Only downside now a days is the line to get them! But it's free so it's to be expected!

The queue is quite sporadic.

On my transit in January, I first swung by the T3 counter upon arrival and it was crazy mad busy. Went to the lounge, had a snack and shower. Went again and I was the only person.

Great news about the extension.

I've only ever had one long queue for them when it was about 8-9 pm. The rest of the time, I've been able to pick them up in the early morning (6-ish) and there's usually more staff than people in line.

I went through last night, picked mine up at about 10:30pm only about 4-5 people there. They were still punched with an expiry of March 2015, so quickly went and spent it.
will be flying back through end of April, so will pick them up again.
i booked two one ways with points so should be able to get them again.

Re: S$40 voucher for Singapore Airlines pax transiting thru Changi to use in airport

Cruiserette has decided she wants an iPad Pro WiFi only - iStudio in SIN current pricing S$1,110 for 32GB and $1,353 for 128GB. I currently have $200 worth of Changi $ vouchers so that is starting to look pretty attractive - am through there next week so will prolly pick one up.

You can pre-order at iStudio and they will guarantee availability when you arrive - 3 days advance notice required.
