I can't quite work out if my itinerary will be eligible or not so thought the learned heads of AFF may be of assistance.

PER-SINx-MLE SQ
MLE-AUH-LHR EY
ZRH-SIN-PER SQ

It isn't really a return on SQ (more of an open jaw really)
Open jaw is OK - go check with the desk - what they say goes.

Open jaw on one ticket is OK. What's there is a series of one-ways and we don't know how that will be treated.

I was told "return" ticket. We shall see the actual interpretation.

I have nested a SIN-DPS vv flight within a MEL-SIN vv flight next month. Stop over time in SIN is less than 24 hrs both sides. Not sure if eligible but will go and ask.

As noted here and in SQ Tips, Trips & Tales thread there are new rules applying to Changi Transit Vouchers promo from Apr 1 - but few changes that will affect many. Basic info here:

1. One way tix (No return tix to Oz purchased at time of travel) ineligible
2. Ret tix A-SIN-B / B-SIN-A are eligible
3. 2 x one way tix A-SIN-B / C-SIN-A (open jaw) are also eligible if you can show evidence both o/w tix at time of voucher claim
4. Transits must be less than 24hrs in SIN

I can see little change as to what was in play for last 6mths or so since they stopped eligibility for both o/w tix - keep enjoying folks.

Yes transited a couple of days ago coming back from Vietnam. I was travelling on 2 x ow tickets to and from Australia. Only allowed 1 lot of vouchers (ie $20 for alcohol/tobacco and $20 for shops). On the plus side the duty free DFS took the lot for a couple of single malts. :)

When you receive S$40 in vouchers you will receive 2 x $20 vouchers - one can be used virtually any shop in SIN and the other can only be spent Cosmetics & Perfumes and Liquor & Tobacco Stores only:

YES both can be used on grog purchases.

I assume if you can spend both on grog you can spend both on cosmetics too? Also, I read somewhere that your ticket must have been issued by SQ - is this correct?

I got 2x$20 for my PER-CPH last week. Got me a really nice (and all of a sudden, cheap) bottle of scotch :)

Here is an interesting situation.

Arrive SIN 04:55am and depart SIN 07:10am.

Is that an overnight transit?

it's same day (2hrs).

If you mean 0710+1 - I think that becomes a stopover.
I guess technically it is the same day although it could also be a late night arrival and an early morning departure.

On the way back flight arrives in SIN ~10:00pm and onward flight departs at ~00:20am. Would that be an overnight transit?

lol. Probably not :) I think 'airline' time puts 'same day' as before 2am or something?

And if that isn't the case then 2200->0020 would just be a regular 'transit', not overnight.

What's the interest in an overnight transit?

I think I am confusing myself here. The Changi dollar vouchers are for any transit in SIN not just an overnight transit.

Apologies for dumb questions. This last minute trip is doing my head in trying to save a few dollars. Should have listened to cove and Cruiser Elite and just booked a First redemption on EK SYD-BKK.

Any transit will do provided one of them is less than 24 hours. You only need one such transit on your itinerary. One trip through SIN can be a stopover (longer than 24 hours).
  • CDVs will only be issued to passengers in transit within 24 hours at Changi Airport. This is calculated from the Scheduled Time of Arrival (STA) of the arriving flight to Changi Airport to the Scheduled Time of Departure (STD) of the connecting departure flight out of Changi Airport.
and

  • CDVs will be issued to passengers in transit as long as 1 leg of their transit duration is within 24 hours at Changi Airport.
