From Changi website:

Singapore Airlines and SilkAir customers transiting in Singapore have more to look forward to with the enhancement of the recently introduced Changi Transit Programme. For a limited period from now until 30 June 2013, eligible customers will receive $40 worth of Changi Dollar Vouchers (CDVs) per ticket – double the amount since the Changi Transit Programme began on 1 October 2012.

To qualify for the CDVs, customers must travel on Singapore Airlines or SilkAir on both their inbound and outbound flights, with a 13-digit e-ticket receipt number beginning with 618 or 629.

The CDVs are valid for one-time use at more than 450 retail, food and service outlets in the transit and public areas of Terminals 1, 2 and 3, excluding outlets in the Arrival Baggage Claim Halls. They can also be redeemed for one-time access to the Ambassador Transit Lounge at Terminals 2 and 3 for up to six hours.

Sounds like a great deal, of little use to me as I rarely transit my home airport (sometimes do on separate tix), but I am sure may be of interest to some AFF'ers.

I wonder if that deal include redemptions tix?

It would be nice if it does as the promo could then give gratis entry to the Ambassador gym.

I'm a fan of the MI flights doing about 8 sector with them in the last year. The crew are happy and relaxed. I think knowing that they will be back home at the end of each shift, at least on the flights to Pi.

My upcoming redemption has a 618 eticket number so I'll post the result. Flying Jan 25. I could do with some Highland Park for the trip especially if it Sin $40 off;)

Great news for me, I'll be doing a SIN transit on SQ in just under three weeks (and again on the way back a couple of weeks later! :)). Honestly didn't know about this until I saw the thread title on the SQ forum page. Thanks for posting this, dajop! :D

Does anyone know how to claim the CDV? The link in the media release doesn't work for me "www.singaporeair.com/jsp/cms/en_UK/promotions/transitpromotion.jsp."

I'm guessing the information counters would have them info.

The link in the OP says:

To collect their CDVs, eligible customers should present both their electronic ticket and boarding pass of their Singapore-bound flight at any of the seven Information Counters in the transit areas of Terminals 2 and 3. The CDVs are issued while stocks last and will expire on 31 March 2014.

Just picked up 2x $20 vouchers at the info desk. Now I am smiling as the Highland Park 1990 I just purchased for the ski trip cost SIN$27.50 .Oh happy days

I tried to claim at two different desks last night.

The first desk (T2) needed me to have both the inbound to SIN boarding pass and the outbound boarding pass for our onward journey. Of our four travellers, only one of the bookings qualified as being made after 1 Oct 12 when the promo started. We had to go search out the inbound boarding pass stub from that person's backpack.

At the next desk (T3) I went with both BPs and the eticket displayed on my iPhone. This was also a fail as the person wanted to see a print out of the eticket.

By this stage I had out-weighed my time verses Silver Kris lounge time.

I'll be much better prepared on the return journey when I'll have four qualifying travellers and BPs.

Yes mine was a print out from kris flyer website but with no date so I told one of the "little white ones". I did have both boarding passes

Just had a look at my eticket and the issue date was 2nd October, phewww! Going to give these a go on Thursday when I get to Changi :p

Passing back through Changi this morning and no problems claiming 4 x S$40. This time it was acceptable to show the etix from my phone and all of the family had retained their BP. Seems like good value and I haven't seen the rest of the family since.

I notice that it was promoted through the Krisflyer newsletter this week.

Can anyone confirm redemption tickets are eligible?
Yes mine was a redemption ticket and no problem even though it was booked long before October just make sure the booking date is not visible on the print out and be ecomical with the truth if asked!!!

Just a thought, both tickets need to be on one PNR, correct?

I'm flying MEL-SIN in F, overnighting then SIN-HKT (on SilkAir if the vouchers are applicable but haven't booked as yet...) the following morning.

That might be a little tricky. Does say 'in transit' where as the overnighter might appear as two trips. Just have to ask. For the S$40, keep the goal in sight, it may not be worth the hassle if you have to rearrange to much.

BTW, I love Silkair, the crew just seem friendly.

Thanks for your thoughts, I'll try and get in touch with Changai Airport. It's either burn points and fly SilkAir or fly Tiger Airways... decisions decisions..

I wonder if you can use it in the Duty Free lolly shop
