Um what? The India thing is just the sia codeahare, on Sia metal. Just like virgin Australia will touch down in Beijing? Give me a break.

Umm, someone has fallen for the classic marketing ploy! I will modify the title to reflect reality.

It is just revealing a bit more of the codeshare agreement.

Not big news i know, but just something :).

Re: Virgin pilots get a 28% pay rise!

28% in one hit or spread over how long? No offence but Ben's article is cough tbh with you. It is a thinly veiled swipe at Virgin's competitor.

Great the fact the pilots are getting a pay rise, but what are they getting payed in comparison to the competition? Is it good business by JB to increase the pay by so much? Will that mean your fares go up?

It is funny he mentions the off shoring, as I am meant to believe that in NZ the Jet Connect crew were on better conditions than the Pacific Blue crew or what ever you wanted to call them.

Having been in the middle of a pay dispute recently, I am aware that both sides make claims that twist the truth in order to suit their arguments better. Qantas is not a charity, however the pilots are an integral part of their operations.

As for your link to the IFE, it has already been covered on here, as for your first Jetstar link, it was actually a JetBlue flight in America, if I was Jetstar, I would be actually demanding that their photo and name be removed from the article. As for your third article, that is about the only news worthy item there, but its not something that is just limited to Jetstar.

Markis, how about you edit the Jetstar pee part to JetBlue pee to make things more accurate?

I don't know everything, read the article. As for the off-shoring he is saying he want to do as much of work onshore as possiblem employ people, make new busienss agreements, like a hangar facility and opening a new BNE call centre. Don't ask me, read the articles.

According to qantas, virgin pilots earn 30% less than qantas pilots on similar aircraft.

But the thing is Qantas doesn't "care" if that makes sense as much as virgin. If it was the same, wouldnt virgin be having the same situation if the pay was too low? This is a positive announcment, please dont turn it negative.

That is a bit naive to suggest that. The workings of Industrial relations are a bit more complex than just pay.

This is a discussion board, provided the replies are on topic, I don't see why they can or can not be negative. Yes a pay rise is significant, but in terms of running a business, will it push Virgin's prices up? Are they actually forgetting the leisure market in their quest to chase the premium market, I do not know. Pay is always a sensitive topic. Qantas is not the only legacy carrier that has had issues with pay and agreements that are quite beneficial to the staff, but not to their cost base. It is a balancing game.

As for the Jetstar Pee link, can that not be edited to reflect the actual airline involved JetBlue?

I do agree with your points. Then why would jetstar be mentioned in 300 articles?

First I was answering a question raised by someone who is not you.

Second how is it negative to state the publicly available facts about the relativity of pilots pay. There is nothing negative in a simple statement of fact. So pull your head in.

Did you actually read the pee article? It was a JetBlue flight from New York, not (currently) a JQ destination is it

In all fairness to Jack Jetstar is actually mentioned numerous times including being in the link title and the article as well as having a JQ picture.
