SilverKris Lounge Update

Also great to see that SKL in SIN - both F and J - have finally put some decent hooks in the showers instead of those ridiculous 'button' hooks that have been their since T3 built. Remember they had coat hangers hanging on the hooks in F because you just could not get your clothes to hang on those tiny buttons?

First noticed them in early June and forgot to post pic.

I see the person who put the hooks up is also a Bon Jovi fan or has the great man been leaving his mark in the SKL ;)

Fully agree on Chinese lounges being substandard given the rest of the Sing Air product with cold ordinary food and warm beer. The cleaner in the toilet is often asleep, picking his nose or watching you use the facilities. I suspect that BGS are a state owned company, its the only logical explanation for the standard given. Air China lounges are even worse and not worth the benefit when in domestic termnials outside of major cities in China.

Flying out of SYD in TG F next week - have the SYD SQ lounges received their update yet? Or are they still the same horrible affairs I visited - and walked out of two minutes later - last year?

Was looking forward to visiting the Sydney lounge later this month (only because it means I'm actually on holiday -six weeks in Europe) so will have to settle for Air NZ lounge - never been in it - do you think I'll be able to get a champagne breakfast to start the holiday?

Cheers Dr Bob

I can't recall the AirNZ lounge well enough to answer your champagne breakfast question, but don't be disappointed that you can't visit the old SQ lounge - it was C R A P. The AirNZ lounge is nice, if a little crowded based on my limited experiences of it.

The AirNZ lounge doesn't have Champagne. Their sparkling option is from NZ somewhere, and is okay only.

FWIW, it tastes better when you turn it into a Mimosa.

I've done a bit of searching and apparently the AirNZ lounge doesn't open until 6am in SYD. I'm on SQ212 next month and was hoping to sneak in a breakfast pre-boarding. Are they opening earlier as a result of the sharing that will be going on? I'll likely be through customs around 5am.

Cheers

SQ website has the Air NZ lounge in Sydney opening at 0530 for SQ212. If they have changed the lounge information then one would think their opening time is correct.

I was in the Syd lounge on Saturday - the SQ one that is. Maybe the works are just going on around operations?

I'd rather the SQ lounge i suppose if i could get to it. I'll report back around the 9th of Sept

So MEL has a private F section?
Indeed it does.
What is it like compared to the J section ?
Smaller!

In all seriousness - little difference - same food / drinks (cept maybe French Champ V Local Vinegar) - will be there Wed night - will do full check for you on food / drinks.

Have only been in F side since re-opening - guys like penny-girl and jaffle-iron frequent SKL J in MEL - I refuse to associate with that type of riff-raff.

ha - Thanks

I refuse to hang around Penny-girl as well :p well, mainly the fact that he walks too fast on the way to the SYD QF F lounge.............

It's called Champagne-maximisation :p :p

Actually a certain FlyerTalker can pass through that airport faster than me... A bit redundant given I was guesting them.
