Background to this thread:

In a similar vein to the "Flight Availability / Upgrade Probability Help Desk" there has an increase in the posting of questions about specific seat allocation/availability on a flight. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with such queries. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.

This new consolidated thread is where you can ask questions about seating allocation/availability. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve usability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread:

Please post questions about availability of specific seats in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, Origin, Destination, date and cabin as applicable.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

I flew 1K on the 777 last month. Once the curtain was pulled I was completely unaware of any crew movement or noise.

The problem is that you have the chance of having a crew that just happens to make noise - either food prep or chatting. If you start to notice either one of those it can impede sleep.

Sure. Was just noting my experience. NC headphones and ability to close the door help too.

I am giving Qatar a try in May - 4 legs on Qsuites. don’t know what they will be like, but they look closer to the mini First that Joyce was boasting about for his “Dream”liner. Looking forward to flying out of Canberra - even though you stop in Sydney, it’s a lot easier than worrying about connections and fog and cancelled flights out of Canberra. Qatar was certainly not cheap, so I don’t know what the issue is with price.

i think this has been moved twice now. I am actually not asking any question - have already chosen seats and although Pushka has given m something to think about have decided to stick with what I have chosen.

This comment started in a thread about Joyce’s response to Qatar and actually makes more sense there. Unfortunately it did lead to an off topic discussion between Pushka and me and the mods seem to have been madly trying to find a home for it since. Maybe it should all just be deleted.

I'm flying SQ232 SYD-SIN on 25 December on an SQ award.

I've allocated or been allocated 71H. The seat map on SQ manage my booking is confusing and shows 71H without seat in front but I suspect this is the Four class V3 on Seatguru which has 71H behind the exit row down the back on lower deck. 70H appears to be available but costs close to AUD80 to pre-allocate.

For some reason I thought I had allocated upper deck but this does not appear to be the case unless aircraft has been swapped.

Any clues?

Yeah. The seat map used for seat selection is a bit out of kilter with the actual configuration. The actual config is here: https://www.singaporeair.com/saar5/pdf/OurFleet/A380-BusinessandSuites-upperdeck-4class.pdf

Like QF's row 80A/K, it's actually the window seat that has no seat in front of it. 70H being the aisle is just a regular economy class aisle seat. No extra leg room. (You'll notice on the seat selection map that 70A/K are marked in orange, meaning extra legroom. When looking at the seat selection map this appears to make little sense, but becomes clear when you look at the actual map on the PDF)
