Seat selection Cathay redemption Business

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else having the same issue.

I was able to choose seats from a Qantas classic reward booking until very recently when I manage my booking from Cathay I am no longer able to alter my seat selection and instead get this message.

“Seat selection is not available because you have requested a special service or your booking is still on-hold. We will assign you a suitable seat for service arrangements.”

Obviously I have not requested a special service and have called Qantas who have confirmed my flight is confirmed ticketed and not on hold and say it is Cathay’s issue. Just seeing if anyone else having the same issue now.

Can I tag along with a similar question, though for paid fares in Y on CX? I can select seats on QF and AY flights but not on CX (as an OWS). I've tried through CX, AY, QF and RJ sites but the same on all of them.

I presume that cash fares ticketed by CX would naturally allow advance seat selection. Which other settings allow that, i.e. where's the boundary?
