Not sure about this, but why not have a look at this site:

SYD-BKK - 747. Thai has a couple of different configurations, but neither is good. They have more business seats in the upper deck than any other airline I am familiar with. If practical I would look to reroute via AKL (get the new TG A346 AKL-BKK and NZ's new 777 SYD-AKL).

BKK-FRA - 747. Most likely LH's new style business seats but still a chance of getting the old style. Flynet is fitted, and currently free service (until it stops around the end of the year).

FRA-MUC - need to know flight number and date since a/c type varies considerably. Most likely you will get intra-europe business class (longhaul repositioning flights are rare), which is the same as economy but with blocked middle seat. Food and drink marginally better in business than economy.

MUC-SFO - A346. So new style business seats ^

SFO-SYD - 744, old style business seats. Not especially comfortable or roomy, but of course much better than economy.

Only for domestic. Internationally more *A airlines serve Oz than OW airlines ;)
Certainly domestic ....

I guess I was viewing the issue from my own personal perspective. When you consider that over 85% of my segments in the last three years have been Oz Domestic it's quite resonable.

Given that the OP is relocating to SIN it's a different issue.

MUC-SFO (lufthansa)!

This sector will be on Airbus equipment. Do a dummy on lufthansa.com and it'll tell you exactly what equipment they are PLANNING to have operate the service.

hey thanks so much everyone..
My flight numbers are..

SYD- BKK TG 992
Bkk-FRA LH 783
FRA-MUC LH 964
MUC-SFO LH 458
SFO-SYD UA863

thanks very much..

FRA-MUC is the only one I was unable to give a/c type. Unfortunately even knowing flight number doesn't help without the date. But since the flight is short it really doesnt matter much what a/c type.

As for TG992, brings back bad memories from when I used to take it AKL-SYD-BKK and connect to onward flights.

I agree with FRA-MUC, 737 or A32S are basically the same. I do not think they put the very old A300 on this route.

Thai is notorious for changing their planes at the last second. The 747-300 is miles below QF 747-300 and not all the TG 747-400 have been upgraded.
Check out FT thread.

This is about TG992 and the new seats.

I guess that statement is true for most local FFers.
