RTW Award Redemption - Star Alliance or OneWorld easier?

Hi Evryone,

In your opinion/experience, was it easier to redeem the Star Alliance or the ONeWorld RTW award (J) tickets?

I understand that I will have to call SIA for Star Alliance redemption, but what about One World? Can it be done online on QFF website??

The Qantas OneWorld Award (note, it doesn't have to be round the world) can be booked online with provisos. The multi-city tool that you use to book it has inadequacies e.g. handling a maximum of 6 sectors, doesn't handle >2 surface sectors, but one advantage of the OWA is you can start the booking online and call to add/change sectors later (subject to finding a competent agent who can do this correctly.)

@BriarFlyer thank you i am planning to keep my itinerary simple so hopefully can all be done online. But when i tried to make dummy multi-city booking today on my Qantas app, it just wouldnt show options for points redemption just paid tickets. Could it have anything to do with me having only 2k points in my QFF?

Nothing to do with your points balance, you can still search but can't get to tax calculation stage. I'd suggest you use the website rather than the app. And read the guide in @levelnine's post.

I see.. i did only try using my mobile not on desktop, because i remember doing it a year ago and it worked

To be honest I've never tried using the multi-city tool on the app and can't see myself ever doing so. It's enough of a challenge on the desktop.
