Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

2.5:1 so effectively 0.404 qf/sq points/$spent. 80000 / 1980 = 0.404 . that's why even I am their vip premier member but I never choose their Payrewards points when make payment.

I guess if you put say a 75k purchase through Pay you'd be charged 1.9% + gst which would be a fee of $1567.50 and on top of this you're paying $165/month for a grand total of $1732.50. Using my Amex platinum card I'd receive 2.25points/$ so this transaction would fetch me 172,648 Amex MR points which is a cost of 1.003c/point.

For the same transaction on Rewardpay you'd pay a fee of 2.1% + gst which would be exactly $1732.50. Identical for that of Pay.

This is an example that relates to me as I pay a single $75k invoice a month. If you put more transactions through Pay you'd come out ahead compared to Rewardpay as you only get charged the $165 monthly fee once per month.

Just been trying to work out "value for money" for this quarter's BAS (looking for KF miles).
So correct me if I'm wrong. For simplicity - GST inclusive and $10k.

Yakpay: $10,000 on the Dragon Visa -> $132 admin fee -> 8,358 KF miles (10132*1.5*0.825) = 63.3 KF miles per $ admin fee
Sniip: $10,000 on Amex Explorer -> $150 admin fee -> 10,150 KF miles = 67.7 KF miles per $ admin fee
Or looking ar it another way, pay an extra $18 fee for an extra 1,792 KF miles.

So IMHO sniip is better "value for money" but is limited to BSB/Account # only, not BPAY. At least the fiscal fiend accepts BSB transfers as well as BPay.
I agree to this as I have been using sniip for council rates , centre link payments and other government charges. It has been giving a good return in terms of points.

Got an email from payment logic today. Saying

We’ve launched a new platform that enables individuals to pay their personal and household bills with their American Express personal cards at only 1.3%. (inc GST)

You have been pre-selected as one of the first clients to gain access to our new App.
We'd love for you to download the App and try it out for yourself.

Fantastic rate at 1.3% gst included for Amex. The recent increase by yp has hurt with an extra $1k a month in cost of using it for me so this is certainly welcome

Edit - only bpay. Bah.

For anyone else interested in the Payment Logic app, you can just sign up without being an existing customer. It's the blue "Payment Logic Personal" app in the app store.

Couple of things to note, yeah, it's BPAY only, and payments to the ATO are blocked (I guess so that all the business owners don't move from the more expensive platform). Sign up process is a bit coughbersome requiring at least 4 photos to be taken of you / ID / holding card etc, but got there in the end. Seems like it's basically just a cheaper version of Sniip. And, BPAY codes for credit cards are blocked, so you can't use AMEX to pay towards a credit card (just in case anyone had any ideas - no, it doesn't work, haha). Should be good for paying rates and water etc. 😁

EDIT: Just like Sniip, BPAY to the main DEFT code is blocked.

Hmm I don't see a use case for me.
BPay via beem for non ATO, it's surcharge free for small payments, which mine all are except ATO

Small = ?
I should rephrase.. beem is surcharge free for visa/mc but last I tried it had a $2k/day and $10k/month limit.

Think I read in another thread here that the 10k limit is no more?

Small for me is <$2k. Nothing large for me that I pay BPay which isn't ATO

Beems now seems to be $2k per transaction without a daily or monthly limit.

Been reading this thread and don’t understand how I can use the advice. I have a black altitude card from Westpac. I have a large tax bill coming up ($250,000). When I do a BPay I enter the biller code and reference number and the money is taken out of my savings account. How do I do a BPay with the money taken out of my credit card. Just phoned the banks call centre and unable to get a reply. How can I best use one of the payment services outlined in this thread.

I don’t think you’ll earn points anymore using this method.

Use Beem though it will be tedious as the payment limit is $2,000 per payment.

You’ll need to prepay your Westpac Altitude card with the funds before doing it so all the payments go through.

There was some talk that this might only work for $10,000 per month maximum so might help at the margins but not for most of it. Might be a matter of doing some this month and some next month.

Hope this helps.

Let us know how you go.

There has got to be a way around this. It seems that a lot of AFF members are making this work for them with large amounts going through their use of these services

Platforms such as ours are able to assist with that.

When paying the ATO via our platform you would earn the full reward points from your Westpac card (as opposed to the half or less you would earn when paying directly), plus 1 bonus Qantas point for every $7 spent to the ATO. We also have an ongoing promotion with Qantas that offers up to 100,000 bonus Qantas points for payments made to the ATO. The fee you would be charged is 0.8% + GST vs the 0.77% when going direct (but you get the full points from you card, plus the transactional bonus points).

As mentioned above, you might need to preload the card with funds from your account to ensure that you are able to facilitate the entire amount in one go.

If you'd like to further discuss this just shout out.

Not quite sure what the problem is you are having
I don't really understand beem (and it would be fiddly for you) but for the other services (sniip, RewardPay, B2bpay) the process is sign up to the site, give your credit card details, it gets processed (with surcharge) as a credit payment
Not heard of it being a problem with altitude

tried setting up payment logic personal.
app wants to take a pic of my amex before it can add it.
i take a pic within the app (andrdoi(, it flashes an error message for a split second and then disappears.

Thanks for letting us know @Cruiser Elite - I'll send you a message now.

Regarding our upcoming fee changes, please note that the fees for processing Bank Transfer payments is decreasing and that you will also have the option to opt-in to a lower VISA price of 1.1% - which is lower than it currently is.
