Maybe I'm just daft ;), but it all looks correct, other than cost / pt - isn't it $906 / 57,268 points = 1.6 c (pre-business expense deduction)?

HI @daft009,

The 1.81% (no GST) * + $1 for each individual transaction is from their website. 1.81% on 50,000 = 905 (so that bit is correct).

The FF points earned will, of course, depend on which card you are using although it appears you don't get points on the $1 service fee. On my calculations the cost of 1 QFF point is 0.8890635

Bluechain:
  • American Express 1.95% + GST
  • Visa/Mastercard blended rate for debit and credit cards 1.4% + 50c + GST

Credit Rewards:
1.81% (no GST) * + $1 for each individual transaction
Would you have a link for credit rewards? I can't seem to find them.

thanks.. i did have this assed about.
makes more sense now

I guess it all depends on whether you include the $50,000 as part of the "cost".

safe to put it in the "can't avoid it" cost bucket

Bluechain or creditrewards, which one works out to better?

B.C if you need to EFT.
If Bpay CR is cheaper

I wish you were right though! Remind me - may be upthread - what is rate difference for BC on EFT vs CR on Bpay?

Hi - please would someone let me know the website for Credit Rewards as they seem to be best for Amex. Has anyone had any problems with them? I had been using B2BPay

That’s a good development. Though just set up an account and loaded my Amex as 1.5% is much cheaper than what Macquarie charge on the DEFT site to pay my strata levies but refused to let me use Amex to pay. MC or Visa only. Just going to use Credit Rewards. 1.8% is still cheaper than Macquarie’s usurious fees.

Tried to use Sniip to pay but it says Amex card not accepted...? There's a recent Amex offer for Spend $50, get 1000 bonus points as well.. How to get the bonus points when the bill cannot be paid using Amex?

Further to my last message, managed to get through to Sniip. Was informed that Amex told them they couldn't facilitate payments to DEFT at this time - I'm assuming Macquarie wouldn't have liked someone facilitating Amex payments for 1.5% vs 3.3% using DEFT. They reckon there aren't any others that are restricted (apart from the usual categories like gambling etc). I asked about Bank transfers and they said they are coming.
