IHG have announced 15 Staybridge suites to be built downunder, one of the first at Leppington so closer hotel options are coming. There is also a decent Mercure at the catholic club at Preston’s.

Perhaps the Leppington one wil be near the train station, still a lot of land there to work with.

There is still the need the shuttle for guests though to and from the airport as it is still a fair journey to get there.

Now there is the Courtyard which is near the airport... wonder how that is going.

Was no opening date on the Courtyard as of a few months back, and nothing other than the carpark and station is obviously under construction in that area.

Perhaps the Leppington one wil be near the train station, still a lot of land there to work with.

It will be part of the town centre development by the same developer at 156-166 Rickard Road

Always a head-shake when I see yet another reporter use the word “crisis” with respect to what is essentially an inconvenience. How many people are at risk of starvation or death if a new hotel is delayed

So seems they are splitting P1 and P2 into Premium Covered, and Saver.
And then the long stay is some distance away in P4.

SQ201 scheduled arrival time is 2220.

WSI Link, a free shuttle bus service between St Marys train station and Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) will run every 30 minutes between 4.30am to midnight, Sunday to Thursday and 4.30am to 1am, Friday and Saturday. This temporary service will run once passenger flights begin and will operate until Sydney Metro services start.

The other public buses, including all those to the south seemingly stop at 10pm.

Avalon has had passenger flights since 2003, with a similar number of services as WSI will initially have, without there being any accommodation at the airport and the nearest decent hotels being 20km away in Geelong.

People still seem to be surviving.

The aforementioned supershuttle operating to Parramatta and Central Station, will be scheduled to serve SQ201 and being a private enterprise, will almost certainly wait for a late arrival of SQ201 rather than travel into Sydney with no passengers to keep its schedule.

How many tourists do you anticipate on this flight?

If the majority are Sydneysiders (and potentially western), likely to be picked up.

And if they are a tourist and fell for the "Sydney" trap - lesson learnt. It's not like WSI is unique in this regard. Fly into ICN, FCO, NRT, TPE and a whole bunch of other major cities late at night and your only option is taxis or sketch low frequency night bus - if they exist. (heck i got scammed in a taxi last time at ICN to GMP at midnight - but i wasn't in the mood to deal with it so just paid the extra $40).

fell for the "Sydney" trap - lesson learnt. It's not like WSI is unique in this regard

Indeed, there is the longstanding YQY trap, which is a much bigger one.

Certainly not one to attract families with kids for sure! Land that early and still not be able to check in to hotels etc..

HOWEVER, if the intention is to make it a stop for connecting services on FJ to elsewhere, it might just work.

It also likely helps in aircraft utilisation. Currently the aircraft operating FJ915 has to overnight in SYD to form FJ914 departing the next morning, whereas the new schedule will enable the plane to return to Nadi to operate something else.
