Red Roo - No more F to HKG = No more A380/Skybed Mark 1?

While you are at it Red Roo, how about a thought for Perth people -- No Business Lounge, No First Lounge, NO QANTAs metal international anywhere from Perth = no possible international upgrades at all - period. How about exploring with Emirates at least, the possible use of Qantas points for upgrades.

You are forcing us to fly with someone else and at the same time penalising us by lowering the status /points earn with OneWorld partners.

Very unhappy P1 based in Perth trying very hard to see the value in keeping P or P1! Please don't mention the J* word or you will really upset me.

PS To balance things out, kudos to the great crew on QF773 in J tonight.

I think what is even worse with the J* option is there isn't even J* business (J*J)!

I found the meal to be very good. Tiger Prawn salad and Duck in Red Wine sauce. Great Western Shiraz. I have no complaints about any of the transcontinental meals I have had.

I wish I was served something that good on QFi in J!!

With no QFi flights from PER, I wonder how long it will be before it is enhanced out of existence.

When I first read that I thought you were talking about enhancing Perth out of existence!

Seriously though, when it is open, the Emirates Intl lounge is excellent. Pity that is not all the time.

I don't think that is very satisfactory!

They are offering F lounges passes left right and centre, or offer platinum status just for cancelled chauffeur drive services, and they seem able to allocate status members flying business class to the front seats... but an actual first class passenger? Just left to fend for themselves? For a commercial decision aimed at improving their (the airline's) bottom line?

These compensation policies seem to be all over the place!

While i appreciate the only compensation the reservation agent may be able to offer you is a refund of points, that doesn't mean someone a little higher up can't offer you more. I would suggest this warrants an email to customer care.

Why should a platinum member, paying business class, get to thumb their noses at you and grab the First class seat you already paid for?

Wait - who got WP status at a drop of a hat because they lost a Chauffeur Drive booking?

on the dedicated CD thread... affected passengers have been offered one level higher on their membership... so golds have been offered platinum. just for the loss of the CD service.

To be fair, there is only one such report.

Others have not reported this offer.

There's been a report of a Platinum being "offered" Platinum, which could just be a tactic. No confirmed reports that I've seen of someone being offered a level above, let alone having it actually implemented.

There was a number of posts reporting the offer, including one from a QP member as well as a WP reporting the same:

Options were:
1. 'fastrack to next level', which I'll achieve on upcoming trip before arrival LAX, declined.

I suspect the offer is second in the flow chart underneath the no response to the points.

OK, I stand corrected. Still be keen to hear the details of what would actually be involved.

My situation so far:
I was downgraded from F to J for 2 flights in Dec and Jan.
Was promised a refund of points. It was a FASA so I don't know if I should get some money back or not.
I've been lied to be one of the QF agents about the availability of A380s during that period and was pushed to B747 with no F seats.
Another QF agent moved me back to an A380 and said I will be seated in the F cabin.
It all happened a few weeks ago.
What have QF done since:
I was moved to A380 but my seat is in J.
I didn't get any points or money back.
I send QF an email and got no answer.
I'm doing my best to be patient but after I was downgraded, been lied to, didn't get any refund or compensation, wasn't allocated in F as promised and on top of all that been ignored by customer service, I'm starting to loose my patience with QF.

Time for a PM to Red Roo.

My worry is that if this has happened to you, how many others has this also happened to?

how many others have the advantage of an airline representative to review the case?

What we still don't have from Qantas is any clear undertaking as to:

  • retention of seats in the F cabin for passengers who have been downgraded (or should those seats be saved for a platinum who has upgraded from a cheap economy fare a couple of days prior to departure?)
  • granting of associated benefits of the F class fare such as SYD F lounge access

I just checked my QF127/128 J bookings for mid Feb 2015 and noticed the aircraft has been changed to 747-400 (didn't receive any notifications from QF). Does anyone know if the 747-400 has the old seat configuration (sloping seats)? TIA.

Supposed to be refurbished (MK2)

There is a report over on FT that a cancelled F passenger (AA EXP, no Qantas status) has had their booking downgraded, but their seat in the F cabin has been kept.

If that is true - why is that not offered to F pax? Or to Qantas platinums?

Anyway - I'm glad qantas is listening to us hear on AFF again and at least moving in the right direction if they are starting to offer that.
