re: AKL Dinner 7 March 2015 [1 Space Available]

Thanks, Frogger. Redemption or direct booking with hotel?
Currently a "Queen Double" can be had for 25K IHG reward points or various C&P's.

Revenue is NZ$399+.

I am holding a flexible booking for NZ$216 which I won't be using (I fly MEL-AKL on the 7th March, but am heading onward to LAX that evening).

re: AKL Dinner 7 March 2015 [1 Space Available]

Aeolus, what serfty said. I have both a points and a NZ$216 pn flexible booking for both nights. I will use the points booking unless I suddenly need the points back.

re: AKL Dinner 7 March 2015 [1 Space Available]

Sounds like the event of 2015? I am sort of tempted to attend.

re: AKL Dinner 7 March 2015 [1 Space Available]

It is currently full - with a reserve list to boot.
Yes I realise that dinner is full. I have planned to be in Brisbane that weekend and interested in participating in the other activities.

re: AKL Dinner 7 March 2015 [1 Space Available]

Our hotel is now booked - Hilton Princes Wharf.

Decided to use my Hilton voucher for a free weekend night. Represents good value IMHO as the room cost (King Hilton Guestroom) is AU$1109.00 for the Saturday night!

As I will move from Gold to Diamond before then, I wonder if I will still get an upgrade to King Deluxe Harbour View? :p

You are a wicked lot you AFFers...... the things you have taught me ;)

I snagged a two twin bed room there for 60k Hilton per night, had to wait on a transfer from VS but it finally showed up. There does seem to still be availability. Sadly I am merely Gold and will have to settle for free breakfast most likely instead of an upgrade :D. I now just need to purchase some proper attire and I will confirm as P1.

Unless we have enough people for a SG dinner, outside of the currently full WP private function. Although it doesn't look like there are enough interest around to start this up at this stage?

I'm too tight to part with 60K for a night when I can do mattress run in Asia from 5K a night , well not unless there's a quick and cheap way to churn 60K points?

Not that I'm aware of. If it weren't the closest hotel to the restaurant by a noticeable margin, I doubt I would have booked it. Plenty of cheaper hotels (paid and award) in Auckland, but being barely a minute from Euro is a big plus. The suit will actually stand a chance of not wrinkling by the time I reach the restaurant :D.

re: AKL Dinner 7 March 2015 [1 Space Available]

Hotelclub.com is running a promotion where there is a $50 discount for >$100 booking with Visa Checkout. Used that to book Fri's accommodation with free cancellation - only valid for selected hotels. Just thought I'll put it out there in case anyone hasn't booked their accommodation.:D

re: AKL Dinner 7 March 2015 [1 Space Available]

I take back my previous idea to make this dinner. Sorry for any hassle.

re: AKL Dinner 7 March 2015 [1 Space Available]

Got dragged out to a couple of Boxing Day sales and ended up with something to wear for dinner, so that makes me a P1 for this event :p

Ok folks here is a link to the suggested menus:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_pG2hDkgv4fLUc3S2lZRmVCbTQ/view?usp=sharing

There are six options ranging from $65 to $120. Blackcat20 and I have had a brief discussion and feel that the $95/99 option seems the best value.

Euro are able to manage dietary requirements if they know in advance.

Thoughts?

re: AKL Dinner 7 March 2015 [1 Space Available]

If you are thinking of the $95 option then you may as well pay $4 more and get the additional choices. I'm happy to pay $99/head.

As long as there is something Whipped on offer at the end of the night I'll be happy. :D

re: AKL Dinner 7 March 2015 [1 Space Available]

No preference, absolutely easy, just happy to be part this.:D

re: AKL Dinner 7 March 2015 [1 Space Available]

Another for the $95 or $99.00 meal but almost tempted on the $95.00 one as it has fries, unless someone likes the lamb belly.

Also finally booked my flight to NZ
6 March.
BNE-SYD the QF flight that arrives at 4pm; and then 7pm across to Auckland at QF149.

Going home don't know.
