I am looking at the possibility obtaining an "American Express Qantas Business Card".

I have been told this has some level of inbuilt travel insurance (for travel purchased with it).

However, I am unable to find any real documentation on this. Neither the web site, nor the Amex (India?) call centre has been any use.

Does anyone know the details of this one in particular.

(I was tossing up between this forum or a cards one; as this is a query, I deemed this "Your Questions" forum appropriate.)

thanx, but I'm looking for the 'Business Card'.

It used to have travel insurace benefits similar to that shown for the 'Corportate' card. However I received a letter late '04 indicating the cover was to change and a new advice would be sent 'in the new year'.

To date I have received nothing ....

I had an annual travel insurance policy and last year I did not renew it. My aim is to see if it is worthwhile entering into a new policy, when there maybe some built in to the card.

serfty, actually Aus_Mal (a cousin of Mal above perhaps ) posted this on Flyertalk

Qantas Amex Small Business Card

Could this be the one you are looking for??
Lindsay, (Probably even more closely related than that. Maybe 'Mal' was already taken on FT :D )

Thanks for the link info, I had seen it. In fact, it is what is not shown on that page that concerns me.

When I first received the small business card, it came with inbuilt travel insurance very similar to that listed for the corporate card Mal posted a link for. I did not renew an annual policy I had becase of this, saving quite a few dollars.

Late last year I received a letter indicating the insurance was changing. It indicated a further letter on the changes was to be sent to me early this year detailing them. I have not yet received any such correspondence.

I now note there is no mention of Travel Insurance for the Business card on the website and am pondering that I should take out another Annual Policy at this juncture.

Haha, yes Aus_Mal and myself are related.... someone else got my nick on the other forum before I did...

That's poor form from AMEX - Although if you've been through the call centre droids, searched the website etc not sure where you can go from here.
