Row 43 is good, best of the coach rows. But yes, beware infants allocated to this row as well. Lucky last week there were none on my flight.
Are you referring to 43DEFG? Cannot pre-allocate these seats as they are showing blocked/allocated.

I keep choosing 43H for future flights but I am tempted to try 43K once.

I've been in 43A several times and love it. Bulkhead seat with good leg room (I'm a little under 6ft). I'm (tentatively, upgrade pending) in 44K tomorrow which I'm looking forward to as well, as it means I can curl up into a "little" ball and go to sleep easilly. It is a great little "mini Cabin" and that is what makes it cosy with just a couple of rows of seats.

Hi what are the exit row seats like on these flights? I'm on SYD to DFW and back in August and currently have paid for 58B and 58C. How do these compare to row 46?

Hi all, sorry to dig up an old thread.

I’m on QF515 BNE-SYD then QF7 to DFW this Friday and was trying to dig up the best seats. I logged on at T-80 and was unable to select anything forward of 12 for QF515 and row 50 for QF7.

I tried again at around T-77 and was amazed that I’ve been able to snag 4F for QF515 and 43A on QF7… My question is how this is possible given I’m a PS? I thought row 43 on QF7 would be blocked for WP and above until OLCI?

My fellow AFFer

You should URGENTLY get out of 43A.

The door bulge will be in the way - unless you were a double amputee - in that case, you are ineligible to sit there.

No, you will be forced to rest your legs sideways all the time.

Resting them on the door bulge does not work - it is slippery and the FAs may stop you in any case from doing so.

Change it now, please.

I didn't think those seats on international flights were blocked at all.

And if they are blocked they would more than likely be released at T-80 hours.

Did you try and select seats before T-80 hours? I would be interested to know if these seats were blocked or already allocated at the then.

Can anyone comment on 60HJK. I'm booked in 60H but am concerned about legroom to the bulkhead.

There's some comments in another thread floating around.
I thought 60HJK looked restrictive. There's no cut out so stretching out would be a problem.
I'm only 5"9 and I wouldn't sit there.

I walked down the back a few times. Legroom does look restrictive as there is no cut-out and reminds me of 23BJ on the A330.

Thank you for the feedback JohnK and dodgeyhack - I've moved from 60H, unfortunately being a lowly PS I dont get alot of choice especially not row 43.

Before T-80, best I could do was row 49. After T-80, I can select 43C (43A is already taken and 43B is showing blocked on RF, so likely its a Platinum Shadow. Keeping an eye open for 43D/G, but as noted above those are bassinet seats so will likely remain blocked. Hoping for successful upgrade wait-list, but will be happy with 43C is it does not eventuate.

Oh god, yes, terrible seats. I made the mistake of snagging 23B on my way back from HKG last time thinking it would be a nice roomy bulkhead seat. I had to have my feet out in the corridor for the whole flight (I'm 6' tall but no giant) and on top of that the person in 23A would not sit still so kept me awake for the entire 8 hours!

I'm back in row 25 for my next flight, unless my J upgrade comes through.

Getting back on topic (row 43 on 747 ;) ), and at almost T-24 I can see that 43BDEFGHJK are still all showing as blocked. So looks like 43A's Plat Shadow (well I am assuming that is what it is) may be working in my favour. Still hoping not to be in row 43 and to see my QFF balance reduce by a significant amount sometime in the next day.

Having sat in 43H on QFA108 from JFK to LAX in Feb, there was plenty of leg-room as the profile of the bulkhead has the bottom third further forward than the top section. I reckon we had nearly as much leg-room as those in row 46. Seat recline was fine and it didnt seem to impact the rest of the family sitting behind.
I guess we were lucky with our seating as I'd only done OLCI late the night before.
QFA16 was a different story and we were right at the back of the bus in row 73 albeit lucky that we got J&K in our block

On a light load its possible for the QP to get these released, while the end seats are restricted by armrests, the middle two have a fold up armrest separating them which makes for a rather large space, using 43G for storage and table and the monitor from 43E!

Only woken occasionally by the person behind me punching the seat - turns out they were in fact playing sudoku on the IFE. Qantas really needs to run an education campaign informing passengers that it's a touch screen.
Too right. Unfortunately the newer non-A380 refurbs don't have hand controllers so people have no option but to PUNCH PUNCH PUNCH. Where there is a controller I politely remind the pax behind me the convenience of the controller :)
