You beauty.
Cancelled a Business class MEL-SYD-OOL return and rebooked at EXACTLY the same price !!
Thought it would be dearer to be honest.
Handy pick up towards GOLD again
Not sure if I will chase platinum or not

Wouldn't you know it, we booked hubby's QF flights LHR-SYD return on the weekend for March then this promo came out today :( :( - he is LT gold so won't make much difference as he is not aiming for plat.
Do what I did
1) Check cancellation terms on original booking, mine was full refundable,
2) Then re-book. I did @ same cost

Thanks, sumthinfornuthin. We actually booked via amextravel to take advantage of £200 statement credit for £600+ spend. Same fares as on QF website. So, I think it is better to have £200 off £750 spend then double status credits which hubby will not need - he is LT gold and a long long way from getting plat.

Anyone know that if I make a full flex booking, and later have to change dates (changing AFTER this Friday, but still flying within the promo period), will it still count towards double status credits please?

My understanding is that before the last DSC, it was open to commonwealth government employees, and thst this exclusion was added for the first time last time .
Agree. I've received DSCs for government travel in the past (maybe 3 years ago).

Ugh horrible luck. I'll be in WLG for a whole week in March so the MEL run would be perfect... except none of the dates I'm there have the cheap WLG-MEL flights available...:(

What a great run if you can get the dates to work for you!!

WLG-SYD-MEL sometimes prices out just a few dollars more than WLG-MEL nonstop. This currently includes the non-advertised sale fare.

I was looking at the same day J run WLG-SYD-MEL. appears the one week in march is expensive, just happens to be the week im in WLG.

However, I have found overnighter WLG-SYD-HKG return in Y for $744AUD at 200SC ($3.72/SC) unless I'm doing something wrong???

Some may say a status run in Y is wrong. ;)

Thanks for posting.

Domestic - I've booked VA in the past week. International - QF operated flights only? Hilarious. No thanks, I'll pass.
Status has been cheapened enough without including codeshares.

The short promotion period suggests there'll be more promotions through the year.

The run from PER to JFK gets you 1440 status credits @JohnM but I get jetlag if I go there for a few days.
The risk of buying a Qantas business class run is if the upgrade fairy is on a break so no points upgrade and you get stuck with the A380 uncomfortable seat.
I know they are starting a redo of those seats but that will take a while.
Bora Bora is French so that is wallet challenging.

Fly via MEL or BNE to/from LAX using the 789 and its business suites and then:
1. You don't need to worry about the A380 uncomfortable seat, &
2. The upgrade fairy goes on leave.

We will just be speculating but is it likely that this DSC promo is in response to VA's and not in lieu of the usual ~May DSC promo QF has run in recent years?
