On the Dash8 from say, PLO to ADL, 18.20 to 19.00, do you get the full dinner works?
To 99.9% of people, type of plane does not matter, (piffle) but to a fat dog (me), it does.
I will miss the 767s, while the 330s will console, they (at the moment/don't know) if their numbers in QF's fleet will ever be the same as the numbers of 767s in their heyday.
Edit: never mind though, after 17 Dec, its a gone case.

Qantas Link is a different service level again. I don't think they would be many airlines out there able to serve a meal on a 246km flight that is scheduled as 40 minutes gate to gate no matter what the aircraft is.

and given that AusP is comparing a totally different route/market, to the routes they are 'concerned' about...quite frankly AusP comments are more of a 'dogs breakfast'

Got a full hot breakfast CBR-SYD in J....

Admittedly a shorter sector distance wise. But it's scheduled as longer than PLO-ADL.

Did Y get a full hot breakfast as well? And did you have time to eat it before they tried to take it off you again?

No idea about Y. Had plenty of time CBR-SYD. But on SYD-CBR they tried to snatch the drink out of my hand and the food almost slid off the tray when they began decent.... however, the first flight was a 738 and the latter a 717...

It's more about the service then distance IMO. If done efficiently it should not be a problem to serve a meal even on very short flights.

Does every thread have to be about wide body aircraft for you? You do realise that the food is the same!!!

Chill Mr_Orange.

I see the Pooch seems to rub some folks up the wrong way but at least the old dog is enthusiastic - moreso than an old stager like me!! I was reflecting only this morning on the crammed 675 just what an "everyday commute" domestic flying between MEL-ADL-SYD has become for me.

I smile at some of the Pooch's enthusiastic postings - especially those I can translate!

BD

I was reflecting similar thoughts monday morning when the elbow of some needy type of in my ribs on QF730 ADL-SYD. There was no 7 am flight that day on the route. Made me think that it is a sign of things to come. Capacity limits and full aircraft, the platinum one across the aisle got an on board upgrade. Which gets to another point, only platinum one seems to be getting the welcomes on my last few flights. Platinum is the new [-]black[/-] gold,

Still I find some posts to be almost unintelligible.

Thought the very same myself a couple of weeks ago when the P1 in C (to my A) was being fawned upon hand-over-fist.

Still I find some posts to be almost unintelligible.

Ah, but like a beautifully crafted crossword, the delight when all becomes clear is immeasurable!

Does anyone know what the current breakfast offering/s in economy for flights from BNE-PER is? Flying this route return in February & haven't done so for 4 years. Aircraft is the A330. Thanks

There is usually a choice of hot breakfast, like cheese filled omelette or the usual yogurt/muesli that is also served on short Dom routes.

Try having to eat anything when the pax in front decides the time is nigh for him/her/it to put the seat back right back!
Happened to me on an EK flight, CHC to SYD when they served late afternoon meal/early evening dinner, my first time on EK, so I didn't kick up a stink, but the lady next to me told the pax in front to put their seat back up, so I could eat.

My first experience with the infamous Boxed Dinners. Dreadful.
I had read about the splatter-on-opening effect - but remembered too late. :(

Does the memory of the soggy cardboard fade, too?

Unfortunately not, that's now permanently ingrained...the undulating sediment of yellow sludge above which a pristine cardboard sheen sits.

I'm sure if this were an American carrier, a forum such as this would have already formulated the "compensation to be awarded" for such a traumatic event!!

At least we should have a Survivors Support Group? :)

Knew what was coming on Saturday from Adelaide to Sydney so ate two large plates of the beef and rice in the lounge. Declined the on board food service.

An excellent decision.
Memo to self: Follow BAM's model, while the "Reign of the Boxed Dinner" continues.
The irony is that I had an upgrade - but swapped it for an earlier flight.
So, two bad decisions on my part.
