Help make up for the scrappy beer @Justinf ?Requested points upgrade MEL-HBA QF1295 4.05pm
No go Joe. Denied.
On the plus side, the back of the cabin was virtually empty and I got a spare seat next to me on the A220 in row 26.
I presume you had a classic reward upgrade request in prior to check-in? So they deliberately held back on processing a points upgrade in favour of trying to extract a cash upgrade?DPS-MEL had only J1 a week out. At check-in everyone was offered an upgrade for about $800. Someone must have said yes.
I didn’t know QF did paid upgrades at checkin. At check-in everyone was offered an upgrade for about $800. Someone must have said yes.

I'd say so. I guess if all 150 Y passengers decline a cash upgrade, they'll relent and do a points upgrade at the gate.So they deliberately held back on processing a points upgrade in favour of trying to extract a cash upgrade?
This is the first time I remember seeing prominent red A4 cards at every counter with words to the effect of 'Want to upgrade? Talk to us about your options.' Earning the original SCs and points without a lie-flat bed for a relatively short flight didn't make the upgrade very appealing.I didn’t know QF did paid upgrades at checkin.
