Qantas to launch in-depth partnership with Accor ALL

Is the 1 night silver a one off or yearly thing?

Edit: Ah nevermind it's a one off but comes with a two year boost in the ALL program.

It's pretty underwhelming, to be honest... extra QFF points are generally nice, but I must say I was hoping for something better on the status front, with the VA Platinum > HH Diamond membership at front of mind when I first heard about the tie-up.
The VA benefits are pretty good albeit one-offs also.

It’s a pity they didn’t have a fast track to higher status above ALL Silver.

For those wanting instant ALL Gold, purchase Ibis Business.

Im not surprised, Accor are pretty stingy with handing out status matches etc for high tiers.
Maybe there could be some reciprocal benefits on the status front from QF too 🤣

Accor Gold is pretty useless too from past experience.
This partnership isn’t for everyone obviously but nice to be on the good side of a promo. At average spend rates we stand to pick up 60k plus of QFF points every year for doing nothing

The real benefit is 3 QFF per $1 at Accor properties while also earning status benefits. You could previously have one but not the other if booking through Qantas Hotels, now you can have both.
I’ve not yet had time to read into the detail, are you saying Accor benefits will now apply if you booking via QF Hotels?

If so, that’ll stack nicely with QF hotel points and the PC $100 voucher.

So I just linked my accounts and got the following message:

Congratulations! You’ve linked your Flying Blue and ALL - Accor Live Limitless accounts.
They may have fixed this. I linked my QFF account and got this message

Congratulations! Your accounts are now linked. Be rewarded at every point of your journey.

Now to reward them I might pencil in some stays at Accor...

Maybe it's just a personal view / assumption, but I'd think there's more in it for Accor to offer a better match or fast-track, than for Qantas to do the same. A proven frequent flyer should have a higher customer perceived value to a hotel company, as it is more assumed they will need accommodation on a regular basis, and status is often likely to influence where they stay; we already see that they are loyal based on their status with the airline.

A status holder in a hotel loyalty program is a bigger gamble and more mysterious entity to the airline. A business person who drives back and forth from Sydney to Canberra and stays a lot in Mantra and Novotel may get to ALL Platinum or Diamond, but is perhaps not worth anything to Qantas, and so gifting them Gold or higher for the couple of times a year they buy a Red e-Deal to travel with the whole family via the QP is not a good margin proposition.

Naturally there are outliers in both scenarios. All I can confirm, as a top tier status holder with various hotel chains, is that I have no plans to shift anything to AccorHotels as a result of this program, however I definitely would have done that, if it also came with a match from QFF WP to ALL Platinum.

Cheers,
Matt.

I have never really been an Accor guy. Stayed at a few over the journey and don't mind them (the AKL airport prperty is a beauty!) but looking at the ALL program it seems the status benefits are a bit lacking even for the highest tier.

With the tie up yes it does give something for those that stay at these brands specially with status on either side.. but it doesn't seem to be super value. Silver status does not seem to offer too muh (a bit like QF Silver :) ) and is a nice throw away but you can probably get ALL gold via a credit card or other promo I imagine.

As for the partnership at all.. I compare to UA's tie in with Marriott which I have been able to take advantage of for the past 5+ years. That tie in gives Gold status in the Marriott program(for holding UA Gold and above) - and while this level is not overly more generous than ALL Silver I've definitely had some extra perks, upgrades and the like at properties and it's been worth it in that regard. On the surface that has provided more benefit, but does not have the same double dip feature of the QFF/ALL partnership. I suppose this will be a way to boost PC/PCP levels for QF flyers.

I may sign up. I've not decided. It's not something (as a majority IHG/Hilton/Marriott guy) I'm thinking to rush out for or would sway me terribly much to go stay at Accor properties because of this.

That's just my view though. YMMV :)

Anyone know if this is available for existing bookings? We are staying at an Accor hotel this weekend and have just linked the Accor/QFF accounts but we booked (directly through the hotel) some time ago.

Is there anything else we can do to ensure we qualify for the points double-dip? (We'll ask at check-in but there's every chance they won't have any idea.)

You should be good to go.

It is a little strange to offer QF flyers with SG/WP/P1 who (under normal times) do a lot of flying only ALL silver status which is basically a non event. Where is the carrot to win over customers or get non-ALL customers to covert / try another hotel chain?
