According to the earning calculator:

So QF flight number = points and status credits
EK flight number = (less) points and no status credits

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

You're reading the "(non partner)" bit into that. It just says "where another airline's flight number is entered on the ticket". EK is another airline :)

IMNSHO the only exclusion might be the "has been specified by Qantas Loyalty as an Eligible Flight" bit, but I don't know how/where it might have been specified (I actually take this to mean they allow exclusions for special promotions etc, but I'm just guessing).

It needs to be read in conjunction with the Partner Earn tables.

The partner earn tables are about partner marketed flights, but pretty much all have a line about what happens with codeshare flights (which is where the "unless ..... " part at the end comes in)

Taken altogether - if you are on a flighte marketed and operated by Qantas or partner, then the table is straightforward

If you are on a flight marketed by a partner, but operated by another airline you need to refer to the tables to see what the situation is.

in the case at hand:

Qantas Points are earned on all eligible bookings classes, except on Emirates codeshare flights operated by an airline other than Qantas.

basic question maybe, but if booking EK code on QF metal, why would you care about QF status/points? Surely if QF points/status matter to you, for a QF metal flight you'd book it as QF, not EK?

If you already have LTG (or are well on track to it) and know you won't get worthwhile benefits from more SCs from flying QF (e.g. already going to retain WP and nowhere close to PG or P1) then it could be an attractive option.

Question my be relevant here and not start new thread.

Have booked EK flight HKG-BKK return discount economy with EK flight number. Would the earning be 275 QFF points each way? Flight in 4 days and know very little about Emirates Skywards program but it may not be a good idea to orphan a few extra points there.

It would appear so from the earn calculator.
