Qantas Status Credits Bonus Offers

One more, I do agree that the qantas crews acknowledge and treat you a little better as plat. I have enjoyed that for a number of years as well as the priority upgrades and lounges...... agree :)
My point in my post above is why don’t they just come clean about how the dsc or bonus works. If your comment is true, why don’t they state it and we all say fair ball, instead of this frustration with a program that no one knows how their bonus system works.
Yes, I fully agree that it should be transparent instead of this guessing game that goes on, who knows why they do these things, but as someone else is going to say (yes I am jumping the gun here), it is their program and they can do what they want without explaining anything to anyone. Just another enhancement, don't you just love that word.

I tried searching flights, it only offered to keep my booking but no SC offer.
Whilst they have provided a DSC offer in the past after a sale... let's remember the good old Noumea days where they did DSCs in the middle of a very generous Noumea J sale with creative routing.

I received a 75% bonus on a domestic flight I took this week, never received an offer email or registered for anything,I just noticed it on my activity statement. Booked 2 weeks earlier.

What fare class?

I got a targeted 50% Status credit bonus back in November, but have more OS travel coming up. Has anyone been successful in triggering another 50% status credit bonus so quickly after?

I think chances of a global DSC offer are.. slim

Agree !! I think the rationale behind doing a DSC might not be relevant anymore to QF. With all the tracking, partner spend etc, QF must now have massive amounts of data on each customer spend pattern, travel patterns and the likes and would like to reap more money by sending targeted offers.

Also, from earlier posts, I gather that DSC's were introduced to boost travel during the GFC and I think we've come a long way in terms of taking in traveling for pleasure, going an extra stop to boost SC etc. All of which is now being converted to $ for QF (or any airline for that matter)

I also think that by offering a targeted offer, QF can make more money, mainly because of the timing. A generic, global DSC might not appeal to everyone as each individual's timing might vary. But with targeted offers, the chances of QF getting to the customer at the right time is higher and hence, more money into QF's pockets

Still, I like being wrong in cases like this :D

Now, that would be awesome :D Let's all be wrong in thinking that QF won't be releasing a Global DSC on Feb 10 :D

Emirates has just announced a non-targeted "Double Tier Miles" promotion (Tier Miles are equivalent to QF SCs)...in the past when EK has done this QF normally does the same - it fits in with the rumour QF intends to do a public one on 10FEB...this was the EK email...

If Coronavirus starts to heavily impact forward bookings outside of China, maybe there will be a DSC to encourage bookings - one can only hope.

Exactly the kind of thoughts I have been having over recent days. Maybe not DSC right away, but as travel gets more and more affected and confidence to fly will be much lower over the short to medium term (however the coronavirus situation goes) that they will definitely be trying to stimulate demand when things settle down more (whenever that is) and if there was ever a time for bonus promotions - points, SC, whathave you - it will be then.

So not anytime in the short term, but perhaps later this year or next year, depending on the medical situation and travel conditions, but can definitely see more sales and promotions coming our way as a result of much softer demand - almost certainly to/from Asia in particular, but who knows how things will go as the virus spreads....

(not that I WANT any kind of global pandemic or things to go on like that, but thinking about it even now if the virus was to magically be wiped out or a vaccine developed in the next month, you would still see people shying away from travel to/through China/Asia at the very least....
