Qantas Status Credits Bonus Offers

I've seen Syd to chc for about $1200 if that helps, a touch cheaper than akl, get the same amount of SC
Visiting the Flight deals section on the Qantas website I am only seeing One Way deals, so is that when a deal is not really a deal?

@levelnine : most people doing a search on Qantas.com and logged into their FF profile are indeed getting offers, which is AWESOME :D But for some reason, I'm not getting "targeted" lol

But as @RichardMEL suggested, I think I will go ahead and make a booking and not wait ... anymore ...
Ade I don't get targetted offers , however my husband does
Neither of us fly for work

I'm too used to WP and Sydney F lounge where I am at least twice a month, so will try my best next year to get QP. My travel starts WLG (or AKL) to any Australian east coast city ( back to WLG), with some OZ domestic travel (Perth, Cairns, Darwin etc) so do stand some chance.

I did some research on Qantas website and logged in to my account just before the offer. Coincidences?

Not most. Some people doing a search are getting bonus SC offers.

My brother who has never flown and my parents who have flown but don't fly QF have been getting bonus SC offers.

It's pure luck if you're part of the algorithm that produces bonus SC offers. They bonus SC offers were quite common a few years back but have become fewer and far between recently.

Husband maintains without double status for the moment however the DSC are good for LTG
Actually just realised his end of year trip is DSC but funnily enough due to extra flights he has done he would have still maintained plat without the DSC

Does DSC promotions actually add to LT status accrual? I often note that the status bonus (500SC) is not triggered by promotional status credits - only the hard earned flown ones on the original booking class.

Happy to be proven wrong.

They apply to LT status but not to G, P, or P1. AT least that's how it looks on my account. There would be no point in bonus SCs otherwise.

Online Travel agents. But OTA's what? OTA's car. OTA's office

Most? While there are reports I don't think Most are getting offers.

And specifically for me - I just get emails telling me they're holding my booking till midnight :)

Getting a bonus SC offer is always a matter of luck. I don't know what triggers it. I don't need SCs this year and I have no chance of getting to the next level. At least I may get the 500 SC target offer, 50SCs or, more usefully, 5000 points.

They used to but no longer apply to loyalty bonus, but they certainly do apply to attain/retain levels except in the case of P1. Otherwise what would be the point in offering a DSC if it was only useful in a far off future time? It needs to drive sales where it would be of value to you in your current membership year.

This is my understanding and experience of the current rules:

Bonus SC's apply to attaining ALL QF status levels - ie: Silver, Gold, Plat AND P1.
They do NOT apply to:
- earning of loyalty bonuses at 500,1000,1500 and 2000 SC
- Status Bonus Rewards (Platinum Bonus Reward at 2400, P1 Bonus Rewards at 5k and 7k)

Additionally Loyalty Bonus SC's (at 500,1000,1500 and 2000 earned SC's) apply to attaining/retaining Silver/Gold/Platinum status but not P1 - nor do they apply to the Status Bomnus Rewards as above.

Thanks for the info. I seem to have three levels of SC. One with the most SCs, the next 50 SCs short for attaining P1 and the other 255 short of the next loyalty bonus.

Level 1: All SCs including those earned from flying on QF and partners, promo SCs (2x or 1.5x) and loyalty bonuses
Level 2: Level 1 SC minus loyalty bonuses, which don't count towards P1
Level 3: SCs earned on QF/JQ metal only - no partner SC or promo SC.

Sounds right.

I've been doing a lot of searching lately, which was perhaps the reason I got a 50% extra offer yesterday. Bookings window is a week, for flights up to mid Feb.

The timing was good, as we were planning to go to NZ for a few days in November anyway. I got CBR-AKL return in J for $1,332. With the 50% extra, that should give me 360 SCs at a cost of $3.70 each.
