I've been logged into my account and searching for BNE-HKG flights everyday.

Nothing received so far. 160 SCs would be better than 80 SCs.

Leaving aside the details of the cheap offer you received, QF SCs on MAS are quite good on intra-asian routes, AFAIK there are no non-earning fare buckets
[/QUOTE]

Not sure if you meant this for business class only, but in economy I definitely was on a non-earning fare bucket from BLR-KUL recently. Maybe because it was part of a BLR-KUL-SYD ticket? The KUL-SYD part was only 10 SC or some other pitiful amount.

I’m in the Sydney International Airport now awaiting my flight to Jakarta - I’ll let you know what happens with the MAS flights - I hadn’t been expecting SCs but will be happy if they are given.

I've searched too many flights to NZ in hopes of getting a DSC to take me across to QF Plat for the first time, none so far, No Sire :(

Never flown economy on MAS, but I have used their special business fares within Asia extensively to maintain QFF status.
What fare bucket are your current flights in? Z? I have earned SCs on Z fares.

How many SC do you need and what is your budget? I’d be happy to look for you.

I'm P1, I enjoy flying Business Class and I have spare time. There are a few ways of effectively creating your own double status points flights. This is one example of many - Imagine you want to fly from Brisbane to Perth in Business Class - the cost is $1600 and you gain 80 SC. Now if you fly to Wellington and then fly to Perth, the cost from Wellington to Perth is $1480 and you get 165 SC. The reason is that on international routes Qantas needs to compete with other airlines. This would only appeal if you were happy to take the long way. Wellington has a reasonable hotel in the terminal.
Looking for a bargain like that PER-SYD on Sunday but nothing under $2500. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you so much @BruceD1beach , appreciate your offer :)

I will be 175 SC short of QF Platinum.

re : budget - I was thinking aroud A$1000 ? not sure if that's less or more for 175 SC. Never did a status run before, so no clue there :)

I think you will be lucky to get status credits for much less than $10 each without a 2x or 1.5 x offer but let's see what he comes up with!

I’m waiting for my flight to Jakarta and am restricted to my iPhone - try Perth to Wellington and then Wellington to Sydney - even with Jetstar. Cheap high SC flights are to Noumea, Jakarta etc. The sweet spot is to book a few months out - but not school holidays.

I agree - under the very best circumstances it can be $3 per SC. A good rate is anywhere up to $10 per SC. Imagine you find $100 flights from Perth. Doing 9 return trips would get you there - but a bit tedious. If you’d like 175 SC in the absence of DSC you may need to spend $1750. Recently Qantas had Gold Coast to Sydney for $99 or to Melbourne for under $200. What is the shortest cheapest Qantas flight from Perth?

I agree! but for me A$1750 is too much because all of my international travel is self-funded and work trips are only between SYD-MEL on the discount Y fare due to company policy!

What is the shortest cheapest Qantas flight from Perth?

I think without QLink, it would be one of the major cities? BNE or may be SIN/DPS?

Boarding soon but I can see sale prices on Perth to Darwin - $209 for 20 SC.

I live in SYD, and I'd be happy to re-position from a different city. Will that save some $$ ?

Hi, Last message unfortunately - I’m now on the A330 - seat 1A - very nice. Have a look at Sydney to Launceston - the flex fare I saw was $374 for 40 SC. So there and back in one day would be 80 SC - still not quite in the budget. If you did that twice you’d only be 15 SC away. Bye.

You can do codeshare to Madrid for 1300ish then Latam to Frankfurt. In business return can cost as little as $270. This earns 120 SC for the return trip. Great value and a shame that Latam are leaving Oneworld.

Thank you @Rosege for your suggestion :) Will keep in mind when I draw my SC run plan

For the best price SCs to go for tourist routes on QF. So Sydney to Cairns.

If you do Sydney to Cairns stopping in Brisbane both ways it's 100SC for about $770 and can do it in an easy day. If you throw in say 30K in points it's down to $550.

If you are coming up to the bonus 50 SC for 1000SC earned then you'll be at 150SC for a return trip to Cairns. So nearly what you want. If you have had all your flights on QF so far you may have your bonus 50SC.
